In 1947, after the Battle of Fenxiao, Chen Geng learned an unfortunate news: Chu Daming, the commander of the 10th Brigade, died heroically in the battle, which shocked him. Zhou Xihan cried bitterly, unable to accept the news. Chen Geng came back to his senses and said regretfully: "Our losses are too great. "Chu Daming is a battlefield warrior under Chen Geng, who joined the army at the age of 16, was thin and small, failed to be assigned to the front line, and was transferred to the health team. However, he was not satisfied with this, and carried a stretcher all day long, and after a few months, he found his superiors and said that he would go to the front to fight.

At that time, Chu Daming's boss, General Xu Shiyou, was also a fierce general, and he saw that although Chu Daming was thin, he was full of courage, so he gave him the opportunity to go to the front. Chu Daming's brave style on the battlefield was mostly learned from Xu Shiyou, who often charged ahead. Chu Daming saw that Xu Shiyou was so brave as a general, so no matter how terrible the enemy was, he had the courage to charge. The courage to fight is getting more and more trained, Chu Daming continues to train his courage on the battlefield full of dangers, and the more he fights, the more courageous he becomes, and he has learned to lead his troops to fight. A little later, he became the battalion commander.

When the Anti-Japanese War broke out in 1937, the 2nd Battalion led by Chu Daming faced a grim situation, the Japanese army blocked their base area, and the 2nd Battalion lacked food and clothing, ammunition and equipment. He did not flinch, and encouraged the soldiers: "Everything is from nothing to everything, although the life we are living now is hard, but we must not be afraid of hardship in the war, even if we go up to fight bayonets, we must win this battle!"”。

In a fierce battle in 1939, the 2nd Battalion was in a disadvantageous state due to the exhaustion of bullets and the ferocious Japanese offensive. Chu Daming's bravery made the Japanese flee in despair, and he held a bayonet, and with his excellent military command, the Japanese army could not deal with it. Despite the all-out attack of the Japanese army, Chu Daming was still untimid and fought bloodily with the enemy.

In an offensive and defensive battle, the Japanese army built a number of watchtowers in order to protect the machine gun positions of the pillboxes, which was undoubtedly a stumbling block for the Eighth Route Army. However, Chu Daming cleverly came up with a solution: he had the soldiers soak five layers of quilts with water and tie them to a wooden table to use as a cover shield, and successfully cracked the Japanese machine-gun position. This made Chen Geng appreciate it very much, and specially commended Chu Daming, praising him for being good at using various methods flexibly to achieve victory. Although Chu Daming was extremely brave, he was also wounded on the battlefield many times, and the old wounds on his body were unknown.

In 1946, he was hit by the enemy on the battlefield again and almost died, but fortunately he was able to save his life in time. However, his injuries did not heal, and he was hastily discharged from the hospital and returned to fighting. In the end, he died a heroic death. At the time of parting, he said to his wife: "I am often on the battlefield, the situation is very dangerous, if I can't come back one day, you don't have to wait for me, just love freely and find a good man." This sentence turned out to be Chu Daming's last words to his wife.

His wisdom and courage have created countless brilliant achievements and become a legend in history. In January 1947, the Battle of Fenxiao broke out, and Chu Daming went to the front line as one of the main commanders. The enemy's offensive was extremely ferocious, but he still adhered to his usual style and insisted on personally commanding and controlling morale. Although he had not recovered from his serious injuries, many people advised him to rest, but he replied: "The battle is not over yet, how can I rest my mind and rest?"”。Because our army's two charges were ineffective, and the fighters were in danger, Chu Daming was anxious. So, he decided to lead the charge himself.

Although the fighters felt it was too dangerous and did not let him go, he insisted on leading the team himself. While charging, the enemy noticed that Chu Daming was commanding in front of the formation, and the snipers quickly aimed at him. In an unguarded situation, Chu Daming was hit by four bullets in his chest, blood spurted wildly, and he fell to the ground. The warriors around him were in a hurry, he desperately opened his eyes, took one last look at the warriors, and before he could explain anything, he closed his eyes forever. That year, Chu Daming was only 31 years old, and he should have a bright future, but he died on the battlefield early.

After his death, everyone was very sad. In memory of this hero, a grand memorial service was organized, and 6,000 soldiers carried his coffin to see him off. Although Chu Daming's life was short, the great cause he created was immortal. Many years later, when the national flag of New China is rising, I believe that Chu Daming, like thousands of revolutionary martyrs in another world, will feel gratified.
