Xiangzhou North Railway Station is the largest coal evacuation station on the Haoji Railway, a major channel for the transportation of coal from the north to the south in China. In order to improve transportation efficiency, Xiangzhou North Railway Station continues to improve the efficiency of receiving and sending trains, with an average of one electric coal train every 6 minutes. In order to open up the "last mile" of coal transportation, Haoji Railway plans to build 18 special lines in Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi and other transportation destinations, and 7 have been opened, so that coal can directly reach power plants, coal ports and chemical plants.
Recently, some parts of Northeast China have also ushered in cold wave weather, and the pressure on thermal coal demand has increased. The Yimin Line is an important channel for coal export in Hulunbuir area of eastern Inner Mongolia, connecting the open-pit mining area of Yimin thermal coal, and undertaking the task of transporting 35 million tons of thermal coal. The Harbin Bureau of the National Railway has taken measures such as opening heavy-duty combined trains and reasonably increasing the speed of interval operation, giving priority to the direct transportation of thermal coal from the eastern region of Inner Mongolia to the northeast region, and increasing the daily passing capacity of thermal coal freight trains from 13 pairs to 20 pairs, so as to fully meet the demand for thermal coal transportation.

In the past two days, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has cooled down sharply, and the coal consumption of heating and power supply enterprises has risen. In order to solve the urgent need for coal storage, heating and power generation in 45 power plants in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and ensure the transportation and supply of thermal coal, the freight centers of China Railway Beijing Bureau have strengthened communication with power plants every day, kept abreast of thermal coal inventory, daily consumption, arrival and unloading, etc., understood the follow-up thermal coal transportation needs of enterprises, and ensured that the direct power supply plant stored coal for more than 20 days.
Shanhaiguan Station, an important railway transportation throat connecting Northeast China and North China, has more than 70,000 tons of coal transported from here every day to power generation enterprises and iron and steel enterprises in Benxi, Lingshan, Beitai and other places. After the winter, Shanhaiguan Station made every effort to put fully loaded coal vehicles into operation in a timely manner, and the coal shipment volume increased by nearly 1.1 million tons compared with the same period last year.
This round of cold wave has also increased the electricity consumption in southwest China, and the demand for coal in major thermal power plants in Sichuan and Chongqing has increased. Since December, the demand for coal at the Luohuang power plant has continued to increase, and the number of coal trains running by the railway department every day has doubled compared with usual, ensuring that the inventory of the Luohuang power plant has increased from 20 days to 48 days.
The Shanghai Bureau of China Railway has opened a special thermal coal train at the Xingweicun freight station close to the Yangtze River wharf, which goes directly to the Huainan Luoneng Power Plant. At the same time, we will give full play to the role of coal storage in Lianyungang, Wenzhou, Yuxikou and other port yards, improve the efficiency of iron-water intermodal transportation, and meet the coal demand of power plants.
