He went straight to a house, knocked on the door and entered, it was the old woman he saw in the dream, so he asked her if she had called for someone to eat noodles outside the door. The old man replied, "Yesterday was my daughter's death day, because she liked to eat celery noodles when she was alive, so I called her outside the door to come back and eat noodles, and I do this every year." ”
Huang Tingjian was surprised and asked, "How long has your daughter been dead?" The old man replied, "It's been 26 years." Huang Tingjian suddenly thought that he was 26 years old this year, and yesterday was his birthday. Then he asked her about her daughter's life and how the family was doing. The old man said: "I only have one daughter, she liked to read before her death, believed in Buddhism and was a vegetarian, and was very filial, but she refused to marry. and vowed to turn into a man in the next life and become a writer. When I was 26 years old, I fell ill and died, and when I died, she said she would come back to see me. ”
Huang Tingjian was shocked and hurriedly asked, "Where is her boudoir?" Can I take a look? ”
The old woman pointed to an old room and said, "This is it." Go in and see for yourself, and I'll pour you some tea." ”
Huang Tingjian walked into the room, looked around, and felt very cordial on the bed, table and chair. I saw a large cabinet against the wall, still locked. He asked the old man, "What's in there?" The old man replied, "All the books she has read." "Can you open it and take a look?" ”
The old man said: "I don't know that my daughter has put the key, so I haven't been able to open it." ”
Huang Tingjian pondered in his heart for a while, and actually found the key, opened the bookcase, and found many manuscripts inside. After reading it carefully, he found that the articles in each of his test papers were all here, and they were word-for-word!
Huang Tingjian pondered for a long time, and suddenly realized that he knew that he was a daughter in his previous life, this place was his hometown in his previous life, and the old woman was his mother in his previous life. "Everyone counts that fifty years have passed since this incident, and Su Dongpo is now exactly forty-nine years old. Judging from the time, place, and similar dreams of many people, there is no objection that Su Dongpo is the reincarnation of the Wujie monk.
Su Dongpo always likes to wear monk's clothes, which may be caused by karma in his previous life. Song Zhezong once asked his chamberlain Chen Yan: "What kind of clothes is Su Dongpo wearing under his court clothes?" Chen Yan said: "It's a monk's robe." Zhezong laughed.

Mingwu had already foreseen that the five precepts might slander the Buddha and the monks in the next life, so that there might never be a day to come out, so he also hurriedly sat down and chased after the five precepts and reincarnated. In this life, Wujie was reincarnated as Su Dongpo, and Mingwu was Su Dongpo's good friend Buddha Yin Monk. Su Dongpo really didn't believe in Buddhism at the beginning, and was obsessed with fame, but the Buddha Yin has always followed him unabandoningly, painstakingly persuading him to become enlightened. The woman said, "A certain burial coffin is rotten, because the anthill dwells under the armpits, so there is this suffering." "It turned out to be this nest of ants. It is not difficult to get rid of this problem. As long as the woman's tomb is found, the tomb is opened, and the ant gathering is removed, and the unspeakable "hidden" can be eliminated immediately. Ting Jian did as he was told, and sure enough, "the armpit qi is removed without medicine".
In fact, whether it is folk transmission or historical records, there are many such stories, but we have always read them as legends and stories, and we laughed at them after reading them, and we didn't think so. is like "Strange Tales from Liaozhai" and "Notes on Reading Wei Caotang", in the eyes of people, they are two strange things**. The official positioning of them has always been: the works make a powerful critique of the corruption and darkness of the society at that time through the technique of talking about foxes and ghosts, exposing social contradictions to a certain extent, and expressing the aspirations of the people, but they are also mixed with some feudal ethical concepts and fatalistic ideas of karma. -- It not only affirmed the achievements, but also pointed out the "dross". From a Buddhist point of view, geniuses are the accumulation of good roots from previous lives and the fulfillment of them in this life. But the world doesn't notice it, and thinks that what is in their hearts, who can know? The scope of visible karma should include both visible actions and intangible thoughts. The power generated by karma determines the fate of the person; And the ghosts and gods are matched from it, and this is where Huang Tingjian was born. In addition, ghosts and gods should also have their standards, otherwise ghosts and gods are in charge, and the standard is the cause and effect of Buddhism, and the complete point is karma and karma, and Buddhism says that cause and effect pass through three lifetimes, or more than three lifetimes, and for many lifetimes. In this way, Huang Tingjian's birth must have its cause, and it is no coincidence that it is by chance.
Huang Tingjian finally converted to Buddhism. Because of the high Zen style at that time, many people at that time were driven to Xi Zen, and he was also close to many senior monks, devoted himself to research, and obtained the Dharma from Huanglong Zen Master. In his later years, he built a fine house on the shore of Fushui in Shehong County, Sichuan, called himself "Fu Weng", inhabited the pure land, chanted Buddha and never stopped, and was reborn in the Western Elysium when he was dying, and since then he has terminated the reincarnation of the world, and has been eternal.
As for Su Dongpo, perhaps as he said, he is a master in Buddhism, and he has achieved nothing in learning Buddhism. Therefore, when he was dying, he was not able to reincarnate in Western Elysium. In fact, it is an exaggeration to say that he "achieved nothing". The Buddha said that being a monk is a lifelong person, and practicing is a matter of many lives and many eons. It is said that Su Dongpo was later reincarnated as the Ming Dynasty writer Yuan Hongdao. After Yuan Hongdao wrote the book "Western Theory", he was reborn in the Western Elysium.
