Jishi is today's Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, and the name of the county here is the longest in China - Jishishan Baoan Salar Dongxiang Autonomous County (referred to as "Jishishan County") in Gansu Province.
Yu Gong "has clouds: "West leaning, Zhu Yuan, birds and mice as for Taihua", West leaning, Zhu Yuan, birds and mice are all in Gansu, where the mighty river water gradually falls from 3000 meters to 4000 meters above sea level to more than 1000 meters, rushing out of the spectacular Jishi Gorge, bidding farewell to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, moving towards the Loess Plateau, and beginning the great process of becoming the Yellow River. There are three unique ethnic groups living here: the Baoan people, the Salar people, and the Dongxiang people, and their existence has enriched the historical memory of the Chinese nation.
The ancient ferry of Imjin here has gone through thousands of years. King Mu of Zhou's westward journey opened up the history of the ancient ferry crossing of the Yellow River in Imjin and opened up the main transportation route from Gansu to Qinghai and the Western Regions. According to the records of Zizhi Tongjian, Zhang Qian made two envoys to the Western Regions during the era of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, crossed the Yellow River into Huangzhong at Jishi Mountain and entered the Western Regions, and passed through Hezhou on the way back and forth, establishing the Silk Road.
Imjin Gudu, also known as Guantingdu, is located in Dahe Village, Dahejia Town, Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, and there are ruins. Started in the Han Dynasty, flourished in the Tang and Song dynasties, from the Han Dynasty to the Ming and Qing dynasties and modern times, it has always been an important ferry port for the upper reaches of the Yellow River to enter Xinjiang in the west and into the south.
The National Treasure "Painted Pottery King" comes from here. The ancient clay pot "vortex four-series painted pottery pot", 50 cm high, is known as the "king of painted pottery" because of its huge size, complete preservation, exquisite shape and body decoration. In 1950, Qi Yongren, a villager in Sanping Village, Anji Township, on the bank of the Yellow River in the northeast of Jishishan County, discovered this national treasure.
In 1956, as soon as this clay pot was unveiled in the former Chinese History Museum, it won the attention of the world with its simple and elegant, majestic and beautiful shape, and was called the "King of Painted Pottery" by Guo Moruo. In the seventies and eighties of the twentieth century, the "King of Painted Pottery" has been invited to exhibit abroad for many times. In 1990, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the People's Republic of China also issued a commemorative stamp of "Painted Pottery King", which was issued at home and abroad.
"Painted Pottery King" is a representative of many painted pottery unearthed in Jishishan County. As the birthplace and spread place of the ancient culture of the Yellow River in the early period, Jishishan County contains extremely rich historical relics, and is also one of the areas with the most and most concentrated painted pottery found in China so far, and is known as the "hometown of Chinese painted pottery".
Guarding the thousand-year-old Jishi Mountain, it has witnessed its historical changes since ancient times, and has also participated in its current naming, openness, tolerance, perseverance, and self-confidence, which is the bearing of Jishi Mountain and the common bearing of the people of all ethnic groups under Jishi Mountain.
