The answer sheet was full of stories about volunteer teaching.
Since 1985, when he stayed at the school to teach, Zhuo Jie has formed an indissoluble bond with guiding students to practice and teach.
In the summer of that year, Zhuo Jie followed his mentor for the first time and went west along the Hexi Corridor, contacting teaching points and docking teaching work for ideological and political graduates in Jiuquan City. After the start of the school year, Zhuo Jie, a "novice" teacher, led more than 100 volunteer students to practice in more than 20 schools across Jiuquan City.
This was the first time he led a team to practice, and along the way he wrote articles, letters, took photographs, observed the people and scenery around him, and what he saw and heard on the way to the west became the starting point for him to devote himself to guiding students to practice and teach.
Later, every winter and summer vacation, Zhuo Jie would go to various places to contact internship sites. After the start of the school year, the internship students were "sprinkled" on the internship site one by one and in batches.
Mentoring students for internships is a 'down-to-earth' job. Zhuo Jie said that work is specific, complex and diverse, and identities are also changeable.
From the very beginning of the "liaison" to contact the internship teaching point, to the later "captain" to lead the internship formation to the internship teaching point, and then to the "commander" to carry out the student teaching to provide practical guidance. In addition, he is also a "safety officer", "psychological counselor" and "life committee", ......Every step and every subtlety in the internship teaching is a personal task for Zhuojie.
For more than 30 years, he has insisted on taking students to practice teaching without a one-year break. Even when the child was born less than 100 days ago, Zhuo Jie still happily accepted the task, repacked his bags and led the team to set off as soon as he received the notice of the team leader.
From the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the northwest border, from the vast Gobi to the mountains and rivers, there are Zhuo Jie leading the team to practice and teach.
I took this opportunity to travel all over Gansu to broaden my horizons and understand the customs and customs of different regions. Zhuo Jie said that he is not only a witness to the internship work of Northwest Normal University in the past 30 years, but also a witness to the great changes in Longyuan Mountain Township.
In 2008, Northwest Normal University joined hands with the education department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to support the development of basic education in Aksu Prefecture. "Who can lead a team to lead students to practice and teach in Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang for a long time?"Everyone's answer points to the same person – Zhuo Jie.
In the face of heavy work tasks and heavy responsibilities, Zhuo Jie's answer was only one sentence "no problem".
Zhuo Jie said that if you choose, you have to stick to it, which is the mission of the Northwest Normal University and his mission. This sentence became the belief and unregrettable choice of batches of students of Northwest Normal University who went to Xinjiang and took root in Xinjiang.
Since this year, every year, two batches of students from Northwest Normal University will take the "special train for teaching support" from Lanzhou, Jincheng, with a journey of 33 hours and a journey of nearly 2,700 kilometers, sowing the seeds of education in the hot land of Aksu.
Over the past 15 years, Northwest Normal University has sent 29 batches of 7,300 students to "relay" this internship in the form of a joint formation.
In the past 15 years, Zhuo Jie has also led 19 internship support groups to various parts of Aksu, covering nearly 1,000 schools there.
On the morning of September 13, 2023, 438 normal students from Northwest Normal University went to Aksu Prefecture in Xinjiang to carry out a new round of internship and teaching work.
On the special train, Zhuo Jie, who is about to retire, and the students recalled the past, talked about the present, and talked about their responsibilities, and looked forward to the next volunteer teaching life in Xinjiang.
