Sweden (Konungariket Sverige), one of the five Nordic countries, is located in Scandinavia (Skandin**iska Halv N). Its topography slopes from northwest to southeast, with the Norland Plateau in the north, the highest peak in the country, Kebnekese Peak, at 2,123 meters above sea level, and plains or hills in the south and along the coast.

The word "Sweden" comes from the Swedish word "kingdom of tranquility", also known as "kingdom of forests". Whether it's the natural environment or the city life, Sweden is the envy of the world.

It's an ideal place to stay for a long time, with beautiful natural scenery, modern but not so noisy cities, diverse and inclusive cultural attributes, and a good aesthetic attitude to life that have made Sweden what it is today.

Sofiero Castle and Gardens, about 10 kilometres north of Helsingborg, was once the summer residence of King Oscar II of Sweden. In 2011, it was voted "the most beautiful garden in Europe". As you stroll through the valley next to the castle, the murmuring water leads you to one secret place after another. The castle's former site is open to the public as a gallery and restaurant, and if you choose a terrace by the sea on a sunny day, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the gorge of the Øresund and a heroic feeling of "seeing the mountains".

If you're looking for a wild adventure, there's no better place than Swedish Lapland. Lapland is suitable for canoeing, trekkers and wildlife watchers. It is inhabited by the tenacious indigenous Sami people, who live in dense forests and barren tundra. Departing from the kayaking center in Stromsund, follow the 359-kilometre wilderness road via Fatmomak to the terminus of the church town of Vihelmina, where you will see traditional wooden houses. In winter, people can buy reindeer skins in Yorkmock, the center of Sami life.

Lush green parks, world-class attractions, and a blend of history and modern architecture make Stockholm an attractive tourist destination. Walking around Stockholm and admiring its well-preserved medieval center, beautiful old churches, royal palaces, picturesque bridges, canals, and cobblestone streets full of cafes and shops is a great experience.

As Sweden's largest island, completely surrounded by the Baltic Sea, Gotland is one of Sweden's most popular tourist destinations and the sunniest place of the year. Visby is the only city on the island and is a beautiful Hanseatic old town that retains much of the townscape and historic buildings. The island is also home to about 100 medieval churches and countless prehistoric sites.

Many of the parks date back to the 19th century, including the Kings Park, which encircles the canals that surround the city center. Gothenburg is Scandinavia's largest port city, the region's largest film festival and numerous festivals throughout the year.

Expect a Christmas atmosphere tourkonungariket sverigeWhen you come to Sweden between the beginning of December and the New Year, you will feel the atmosphere of the Swedes celebrating Christmas. The warm smell of snow-capped rooftops, flickering candles, and freshly baked gingerbread wafts through the streets.

There are two main ways to visit Sweden during Christmas. The first is to go to a big city such as Stockholm or Gothenburg, where the tourist office organizes various festivals to attract tourists. Another option is to head to the countryside. In the countryside, there will be a real winter experience and the opportunity to ride a dog sled, the Northern Lights, and see reindeer walking through the forest.

The Stockholm Old Town Christmas Market (Stortorget Julmarknad, Gamla Stan) has around 40 stalls that will be open on the eve of the festive season, including Swedish Christmas sweets, smoked reindeer elk meat, a range of Swedish handicrafts and decorative arts, and much more. Enough to immerse anyone in the romantic Christmas atmosphere.
