The maintenance manuals of many brands of cars on the market recommend changing the transmission oil about once every 60,000 kilometers.
Transmission oil mainly plays the functions of lubrication, cooling, cleaning, and rust prevention. During the operation of the vehicle, the friction between the gears can be reduced through the lubrication of oil, the energy loss can be reduced and the transmission efficiency can be improved, and the heat generated by the friction of the internal parts of the gearbox can be absorbed at the same time, so as to prevent overheating protection and ensure the normal operation of the vehicle. In addition, transmission fluid cleans the inside of the transmission, preventing metal rust and extending transmission life.
Long-term use of the gearbox will accumulate a part of the oil sludge accumulated between the various parts, which may cause the blockage of the transmission oil channel, solenoid valve body or filter, and cause transmission failure. If the transmission is not replaced for a long time, the transmission may deteriorate the gearshift performance, increase the wear of components, and shorten the transmission life due to the deterioration of the fluid performance.
The maintenance manual of some models has the words life-long maintenance-free, which inevitably makes some car owners drill the tip of the horns, making them think that the gearbox is maintenance-free, and replacing the gearbox oil is a big grievance IQ tax. The reason why there is the concept of lifelong maintenance-free is that due to the closed environment of automatic transmission oil work, the lack of external interference, the oil is relatively not easy to deteriorate, but in actual use, we can not guarantee that the gearbox will always run under ideal working conditions, especially in the crowded urban road section, the oil temperature is extremely unstable, which greatly affects the service life of the transmission oil, and too high temperature will even cause damage to the gearbox.
Therefore, lifelong free maintenance is too ideal, and the automatic transmission oil should be replaced regularly to ensure that the transmission maintains good shifting conditions, shifts more smoothly, and improves driving comfort.
For regular transmission oil changes, it is recommended to choose the gravity change directly. Due to the complex structure of the gearbox, it is difficult to ensure whether the oil sludge is washed into the cavity by air pressure to block the oil circuit, resulting in a series of problems such as obvious setbacks after replacing the gearbox oil. If the transmission oil has not been changed for a long time, it is not recommended to change the oil again. Long-term wear has caused certain damage to the parts, there is a certain gap between the parts, and the replacement of the oil can not fill this part of the air due to the lack of corresponding viscosity, and there may be problems such as slipping and jumping teeth.
