Wu Yan, Vice Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China, Han Chunnalo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, Zhao Haiyan, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, and representatives of the Chinese and Cambodian education circles attended the ceremony.

The Cambodia-China University of Applied Sciences is jointly established by Nanjing University of Industry and Technology of China and the Cambodian Chinese Council of Cambodia, with Xie Yonghua, President of Nanjing University of Industry and Technology, serving as the Chinese chairman, and Fang Qiaosheng, President of the Cambodian Chinese Council, serving as the chairman of the Cambodian side.

In recent years, China-Cambodia educational exchanges and cooperation have been deepened, and there are currently more than 4,500 Cambodian students studying in China. China has set up 4 Confucius Institutes, 3 Chinese Language Centers and 1 Chinese Workshop in Cambodia. In the field of vocational education, China has established 19 overseas institutions and projects in Cambodia to train high-quality technical and skilled talents for Cambodia's economic development and national construction.

In his speech, Wu Yan said that the Cambodia-China University of Applied Sciences is the latest achievement of the cooperation between China and Cambodia in the field of education. The Ministry of Education of China will, as always, support the educational dialogue and exchanges between China and Cambodia, continue to provide scholarships for Cambodian students to study in China, and continue to support cooperation in Chinese education, vocational education and scientific research in Cambodia, and strengthen cooperation in digital education.

Han Chunnalok said that strengthening the quality of education and scientific research and promoting the development of human resources in Cambodia are the priority directions in Cambodia's "five-cornered strategy". It is hoped that Cambodian University of Applied Sciences will play an important role in human resource development and contribute to the high-quality development of Cambodia according to the needs of the Cambodian labor market and the expectations of students, parents and students.

Cambodia-China University of Applied Sciences has set up the first batch of 6 undergraduate majors, including new energy power generation engineering technology, automotive service engineering technology, network engineering technology, e-commerce, modern logistics management, and tourism management, and students can obtain academic qualifications and degree certificates from China and Cambodia at the same time.
