The ADU831 is a fully integrated 247 KSPS data acquisition system that integrates a high-performance, self-calibrating, multi-channel, 12-bit ADC, dual 12-bit DAC, and programmable 8-bit MCU on a single chip.
The microcontroller core is 8052, so the 8051 instruction set is compatible with 12 core clock cycles per machine cycle. 62 KB of non-volatile Flash EE program memory is integrated on-chip. It also integrates 4 KB of non-volatile Flash EE data memory, 256 bytes of RAM, and 2 KB of extended RAM.
The ADU831 also includes additional analog functions, two 12-bit DACs, a power supply monitor, and a bandgap reference. On-chip digital peripherals include two 16-bit-type DACs, dual-channel output 16-bit PWM, watchdog timer, time interval counter, three timer counters, timer 3 for baud rate, and serial IO ports (I2C, SPI, and UART).
The on-chip factory firmware supports serial and debug modes (via UART) via the EA pin, as well as single-pin modes. The QuickStart and QuickStart Plus development systems support ADU831, providing low-cost software and hardware development tools.
The device is specified for operation from 3 V to 5 V over the extended industrial temperature range and is available in a 52-pin plastic quad flat pack and a 56-pin chip-scale package.
