In SOLIDWORKS, the Shaped Hole Wizard is a very useful tool that can help us quickly create holes of various shapes and sizes. However, there are times when we may encounter some problems, the most common of which is "calloutformattxt file".

This error is usually caused by missing software files or wrong paths. calloutformat.The TXT file is an important part of the SOLIDWORKS Shaped Hole Wizard, and if you can't find it, the wizard won't work properly.

So, how to solve this problem?

What this file does: The default format for the Shaped Hole Wizard type is stored in "SW Installation Disk-SOLIDWORKS Version-SOLIDWORKS Corp-SOLIDWORKS-LANG-LANGUAGE-CALLOUTFORMAT."txt", the second file, which is calloutformat 2txt, is a simplified version;

If you want to use the second file, you must rename it to calloutformattxt, the name of the file referenced by the SOLIDWORKS software, and the content in both files can be edited; You can set and use the location in "Tools - Options - System Options - File Location - Hole Annotation Format File";

When you click "OK" and ignore the error here, the annotation will be defined by the geometry, that is, the ordinary annotation, which cannot be annotated with the features automatically recognized by the special-shaped hole.

Solution 1: In "Tools-Options-System Options-File Location-Hole Annotation Format File", delete the previous one, link the latest one, go to "SW Installation Disk-SolidWorks Version-SolidWorks Corp-Solidworks-Lang-Language", and then click OK to restart the software.

Solution 2: Within the Control Panel, fix the installation of SOLIDWORKS:
