It is understood that as of October 2023, a total of 742GW of renewable energy water electrolysis hydrogen production projects in the global green hydrogen market have been produced, accounting for 898%, the number accounted for 638%;The amount of hydrogen produced by water electrolysis from renewable energy accounts for 42% of the operating projectsThe proportion of projects under construction and feasibility studies increased to 75 per cent. It can be seen that "hydrogen production from renewable energy" has become a new driving force for global green hydrogen innovation and transformation.
As far as China's domestic green hydrogen market is concerned, as of October 31, 2023, there are 291 green hydrogen projects in operation, under construction and planning, basically covering the whole country. At present, the total green hydrogen production capacity has been disclosed to reach 4.05 million tons per year, and the production capacity is concentrated in Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Xinjiang, Gansu and other northwest regions. The rapid development of water electrolysis technology has provided technical support for the large-scale implementation of domestic green hydrogen projects, and the application of alkaline electrolyzers in China's green hydrogen projects is still the absolute mainstream. It is estimated that by 2030, the cost of green hydrogen production will be competitive with that of traditional hydrogen sources.
In 2023, it can be clearly seen that the green hydrogen industry chain is actively moving forward, the market remains active, and the overall demand is improving. From the perspective of application industries, hydrogen consumption is mainly concentrated in the four major fields of chemical industry, iron and steel, energy storage and transportation, and chemical industry accounts for the majority. In terms of market capacity, according to authoritative reports, the production capacity of domestic electrolyzer enterprises in 2023 has been confirmed to be 115GW, and there are expansion plans in 2025, and it is conservatively expected that the national production capacity will exceed 40GW in 2025. According to the survey data of authoritative institutions, from January to mid-December 2023, the winning scale of the disclosed projects of water electrolysis hydrogen production exceeded 800MW, and the technical route was mainly ALK, accounting for about 82%. According to the survey of enterprises that have mass production capacity, as of mid-December, the market size of China's 2023 water electrolysis hydrogen production project will reach 93489MW, of which the ALK project accounts for 83%, and the top 3 companies (LONGi Hydrogen Energy, CSSC Perry Hydrogen Energy and Sunshine Hydrogen Energy) have a market share of 76%. Among them, LONGi Hydrogen Energy topped the list with a market share of 24%, and the projects that have won bids include the Da'an Wind and Solar Green Hydrogen Synthesis Ammonia Integration Project, CGN New Energy Ningdong Clean Energy Hydrogen Production Project, and 400,000 kW Photovoltaic Hydrogen Production in Narisong, Ordos City.

In addition, according to the statistics of authoritative institutions, in ALK hydrogen production equipment, the average maximum hydrogen production per tank of new alkali tanks in 2022 will be 1006nm h, and the average single-tank scale corresponding to Q1, Q2, and Q3 in 2023 will be 1267nm h, 1300nm h, and 1667nm h, respectively, showing a trend of large standard parties. At present, 8 domestic companies have announced the launch of 2000nm h electrolyzers. In September 2023, LONGi Hydrogen Energy once again set a new record for the largest single-tank hydrogen production of a released product in China, reaching 3000nm h.
