Ding Xuexiang, Special Representative of the Chairman, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, and Vice Premier of the Communist Party of China, attended the summit and delivered a speech. Wang Wenbin:From November 30 to December 2, Ding Xuexiang, Special Representative of the President, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, and Vice Premier of the Communist Party of China, attended the World Climate Action Summit in Dubai and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang first conveyed the best wishes of the President to the UAE for hosting the World Climate Action Summit, and recalled that the President and other leaders of other countries reached the Paris Agreement with the greatest political determination and wisdom eight years ago, opening a new journey of global cooperation to address climate change. Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang pointed out that China has always kept its promises and made important contributions to global climate governance, and put forward three proposals on global climate governance, including practicing multilateralism, accelerating green transformation, and strengthening implementation actions, stressing the need to adhere to the goals and principles set by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and its Paris AgreementActively increase the proportion of renewable energy, promote the clean, low-carbon and efficient use of traditional energy, and accelerate the formation of green and low-carbon production methods and lifestylesAll countries should fully fulfill their commitments, and developed countries, in particular, should earnestly increase their support for developing countries in terms of capital, technology and capacity-building.
Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang's speech demonstrated China's responsibility as a major country to actively respond to climate change and lead global climate governance, which will help promote positive outcomes at COP28, fully and effectively implement the Paris Agreement, and jointly build a clean and beautiful world.
During the meeting, Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang also attended and delivered a speech at the G77 and China Climate Change Leaders' Summit, and met with leaders such as Mohammed of the United Arab Emirates, Hichilema of Zambia, Díaz-Canel of Cuba, Mouiz of Maldives, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres, further promoting China's achievements in ecological civilization construction and expounding China's position on global climate and environmental governance, which has been widely recognized by all parties.
