The dominant position of the United States is its real weakness

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken seems forgetful as he asserts at a press conference on December 20 that "we will continue to engage with China from a strength standpoint" and boasts of U.S. alliances in the region, while claiming that China is a threat to peace and stability.

Blinken seems to have forgotten that he was refuted by China's top diplomat at Anchorage, Alaska, in March 2021, when he said, "The United States is not qualified to say that it wants to talk to China from a position of strength." Yang's rebuttal became so popular that it appeared on many items, from t-shirts on e-commerce platforms** to mobile phone back covers.

The Chinese are fed up with the condescending tone used by American politicians toward China. When you see that the United States has repeatedly vetoed ceasefire resolutions in the Gaza Strip, it becomes clear that the United States is extremely alone as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and does not seem to have the upper hand. Even its allies in Europe are not on its side on this issue.

The hypocrisy of the United States on the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been seen by the whole world, especially the countries of the Global South, and the reputation of the United States has been hit. Even U.S. diplomats have warned the U.S. that by blindly supporting Israel, "we will lose the support of an entire generation of Arabs," Joe Biden said.

On December 15, U.S. Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns spoke at the Brookings Institution in Washington, accusing Beijing of not using its influence in the Middle East to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In doing so, he deliberately turned a blind eye to the strained diplomatic efforts of China's chief executive, Wang Yi, and China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun.

The fact is that the United States has been providing military support to Israel and has supported its numerous bombings of the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 210,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, most of them women and children, and triggered a terrible humanitarian crisis.

While neither UN Secretary-General António Guterres nor World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has mentioned the United States by name, their anger at American policy could not be more palpable.

Gaza, however, is only one of the lows of U.S. foreign policy. The 20-year war of the United States in Afghanistan (and the occupation of Afghanistan) ended with the occupation of Afghanistan by the Taliban. In 2001, George W. Bush, the former American ** George W. Bushbush) overthrew the Taliban. The Iraq War, regime change in Libya, the "color revolutions" in Central Asia, the "Arab Spring" in the Middle East, ......The list of American foreign policy disasters is long.

Perhaps, for some Americans, the hundreds of U.S. bases around China are a sign of U.S. power, which in turn allows the U.S. to bully China, as Burns tried to do when he boasted that the U.S. had nine military bases in the Philippines. But there is no reason to believe that the United States has the right to unite to bully China, because the United States is the greatest threat to world peace and stability.

It is laughable for the United States to accuse China of posing a threat to freedom of navigation in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, where the safety of shipping lanes is more important to China than to the United States or any other country. Even the United States** is not in a strong position. Biden has a poor approval rating of 39% in 2023, the worst of the 8 Americans** since Jimmy Carter.

Burns blindly accused China of cutting off contacts between the United States and China. But he seems to have forgotten that it was the former US ** Donald Trump who terminated 90 high-level dialogue and exchange mechanisms, and this policy has not been reversed.

It's easy for Burns to accuse China News of distorting American politics and society. But he is well aware that the United States is once again in the grip of McCarthyism, and the farce of slamming China may culminate during the 2024 U.S. ** election campaign.

The problem with Washington's "position of power" is that the United States never treats any other country equally, and China, Africa, Asia, and Europe are all unequal. This is its real weakness.
