With the arrival of 2024, we have ushered in the important moment of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System. In order to commemorate this milestone day, the series of activities "Building Dreams of Beidou and Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Beidou" hosted by the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association and undertaken by Science Popularization China and the Beidou Science and Technology Culture Research and Promotion Professional Committee of the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association was officially launched on January 1, 2024.
With the theme of "Celebrating the Achievements of Beidou in the Past 30 Years and Promoting the Spirit of Beidou in the New Era", the event aims to comprehensively promote the construction and popularization of Beidou cultural system, relying on the strong radiation effect and scale effect of the activity, to help the efficient development of Beidou applications in the fields of mass consumption, sharing economy, public services, emergency rescue, intelligent transportation, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and sideline fishery, and empower the development of "Beidou +" and "Beidou" pan-Beidou enterprises.
The event was supported by Sun Jiadong, winner of the Medal of the Republic and the first chief engineer of the Beidou satellite navigation system, Fan Benyao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and deputy chief of the satellite of the Fifth Academy of the Ministry of Astronautics, Tan Shusen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and deputy chief engineer of the Beidou satellite navigation system engineering, Li Zuhong, deputy chief engineer of the Beidou satellite navigation system, Yang Hui, chief designer and commander-in-chief of the Beidou-2 satellite system, and Lin Baojun, chief designer of the Beidou-3 satellite. They expressed the hope that through this event, more people can understand and understand the Beidou system and witness the brilliant achievements of Beidou together.
On New Year's Day, the organizing committee launched an online initiative activity, with the participation of many celebrities such as Wu Dajing, Ning Li, Che Paul, Song Yi, Chen Qiaoen, Zhou Yutong, Yang Di, Xu Yajun, Dong Xuan, Tu Songyan, Tao Hong and so on.
Subsequently, a series of colorful activities will kick off. First of all, relying on the China Beidou volunteer propaganda action, we will organize and carry out an online national gala, a large-scale online event on China Aerospace Day, and a large-scale cultural evening of Beidou in 30 years, so as to comprehensively promote the construction and popularization of the Beidou cultural system. At the same time, the 30th anniversary pilot film "Direction" and the popular science interview program "Beidou Meeting Room" will be launched one after another, digging deep into the connotation of Beidou culture, inheriting and carrying forward the Beidou spirit and scientist spirit in the new era, refining national culture, and conveying the spirit of the times. In addition, the special project "Beidou Lecture Hall" will carry out science popularization education for young people, and stimulate their love for science and the spirit of exploration. The "Beidou Walking Plan" is a large-scale walking project, which will fully demonstrate the application scenarios of Beidou in popular culture and promote the development of Beidou applications. Finally, the 30th Anniversary Achievement Exhibition and the 30th Anniversary Large-scale Achievement Symposium will focus on industry discussions and exchanges, promote business exchanges in the BeiDou industry, and accelerate its internationalization process. These activities will display "China's Beidou, the world's Beidou, and the first-class Beidou" in an all-round way, and present a generous gift to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China's Beidou satellite navigation system.
