In 1955, our country held a ceremony to award 10 marshals, 10 generals, 57 generals, 177 lieutenant generals and 1,360 major generals. Among them, Mr. Zhu is respected as the head of the marshal.
However, the head of the marshal once became a prisoner of a major general, and this major general was none other than Yuan Yelie. Yuan Yelie was an old revolutionary who had devoted himself to the revolutionary cause since the Nanchang Uprising.
Although Yuan Yelie was awarded the rank of major general after the founding of the People's Republic of China, his early life was not good. Yuan Yelie, who was born in 1899, spent his childhood in Dongkou, Hunan. Just as *** he also has a relationship with Hunan, but this intersection is a later story.
During his childhood, Yuan suffered from hunger, an experience that inspired him to change his fate. During his studies, he studied diligently and Xi and was admitted to the First Normal School of Hunan Province with excellent results.
While in school, he was exposed to the revolutionary speeches of ***, which changed his thinking. Yuan Yelie was convinced that "there is no home without a country, and if you want to govern your family, you must first govern the country", so he resolutely decided to abandon literature and military affairs, and instead joined the military, and was finally admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy as the second batch of cadets.
In 1925, he was introduced to join the Communist Party of China and became the battalion commander under Ye Ting because of his outstanding performance in the army. In 1927, he attended the closing ceremony of the Fifth National Congress in Wuhan, and immediately led his troops to Nanchang to participate in the uprising.
In the Nanchang Uprising, Yuan Yelie was ordered to attack the east gate of the city and launched a fierce battle. Under his witty command, the rebels quickly captured the eastern gate and urgently ordered the reinforcement of the fortifications, vowing to hold the eastern gate so that not even a single fly could fly over.
He encouraged the fighters: "You are all heroes, but you can't relax now, and when the battle is over, I invite everyone to drink and party!."After Yuan Yelie encouraged the soldiers, they enthusiastically accelerated the pace of building defenses, which made Yuan Yelie very satisfied.
After ensuring the safety of the city, Yuan Yelie led the remaining troops and began to search for the remnants of the enemy army. Soon, the soldiers at the east gate heard the sound of horses' hooves in the distance and raised their guns one after another. When I got closer, it turned out to be a man dressed as a gorgeous high-ranking Kuomintang officer.
According to Yuan Yelie's instructions, the soldiers stopped him, asked him to dismount, and warned: "Now it is strictly forbidden to enter and exit the east gate!."The officer was both relieved and a little helpless about this, and could only explain that they were in the same camp, but the soldiers did not believe it, so they had to go to Yuan Yelie.
Yuan Yelie observed, and although the officer insisted that he was a friendly soldier, he could not produce evidence. Yuan Yelie suspected that he was an enemy ** and tried to infiltrate, so he immediately ordered him to be taken down and imprisoned in a small room awaiting interrogation.
The officer didn't expect that he would be kidnapped and imprisoned by friendly troops, and he was both anxious and a little funny, maybe he only had such a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When the news reached ***'s ears, he wondered why the man had not arrived for a long time, and when he learned of the situation, he hurriedly ordered the release of the officer.
After Yuan Yelie learned of this, he was very curious about the identity of this officer and inquired carefully about the situation. It turned out that the officer was our **, Mr. Zhu, who was about to meet *** to discuss important matters, but was stopped by the soldiers at the east gate and imprisoned in a small black room.
When Yuan Yelie heard this, he was secretly anxious in his heart, because Mr. Zhu was his superior, and he actually arrested his superior, which was terrible. hurriedly untied Mr. Zhu and kept apologizing, but Mr. Zhu didn't mind, but appreciated Yuan Yelie's caution very much.
Mr. Zhu said: "You have done a good job, now is the critical moment, you must not be sloppy, and any suspicious person must be carefully investigated." After speaking, Mr. Zhu patted Yuan Yelie's shoulder, his eyes full of admiration for him.
This misunderstanding made Yuan Yelie even more enthusiastic about the revolution in his heart, and he made up his mind that he would definitely not disappoint Mr. Zhu's appreciation. Yuan Yelie, after the failure of the Nanchang Uprising, went south to Guangzhou with Mr. Zhu, and later came to Jinggangshan and participated in the Long March.
He left his mark in both the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation. In particular, it is worth mentioning that when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was about to be won, our army intercepted a Japanese plane on the north coast of Weixian, and the identity of the pilot on the plane was not trivial, and he was actually the son-in-law of the Japanese high-ranking Toshiroku Hatata.
Yuan Yelie was excited when he learned the news and was determined to teach the Japanese army a lesson.
Shunroku Hata was anxious and expressed his willingness to pay a ransom to save his son-in-law, but Yuan Yelie was unmoved, he asked to exchange this ** for more than 30 comrades of our side in the local camp, and Shunroku Hata finally agreed to Yuan Yelie's proposal.
The successful rescue of more than 30 comrades with wisdom is just one example of his many heroic deeds. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Yuan Yelie's eloquence at the negotiating table left others speechless, all of which led to him attaining the rank of major general in 1955.
Although some people take this for granted, Yuan Yelie said: "The revolution is for the happiness of the people, not for the sake of honor." Every revolutionary should understand this.
Another important moment occurred in 1953, long before that, Yuan Yelie had watched from afar but never talked to him. Until after the Spring Festival, ** was ready to go to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to inspect, which was also the first dialogue between Yuan Yelie and ***.
On the ship in Guangzhou, ** saw Yuan Yelie and said to him: "You are Yuan Yelie?".Yuan Yelie was surprised, he didn't expect *** to remember this little person.
Just when Yuan Yelie was puzzled, ** pointed to the 130 cannon on the ship and asked, "Will you operate that?"Although Yuan Yelie didn't understand the intention of ***, he still replied honestly: "No, but I will work hard to learn Xi in the future."
In this way, Yuan Yelie became an important pillar of the later development of the navy and made a significant contribution to the growth of the navy. Summary: Yuan Yelie's prudence and seriousness, as well as Mr. Zhu's tolerance and generosity, constitute an amazing military story.
In the face of the danger of the motherland, they stood up and made tremendous contributions to the construction of the motherland. We will always remember their blood and efforts for the construction of the motherland, inherit their will, work hard for the rejuvenation and growth of the nation, and never let down their efforts!
