India openly challenged international law and forgot what it was like to be beaten by us

China's territorial integrity and sovereignty have always been the core interests of China and its people. However, in recent years, India has frequently challenged international law and agreements on the border issue and infringed on China's territorial sovereignty, which is despicable.

India's Supreme Court recently ruled that India** restore the status of the "state" of Jammu and Kashmir and find that the "Ladakh** Territory" established by India in 2019 is legal and valid. However, a spokesman for China made it clear that China has never recognized the so-called "Ladakh Territory" unilaterally and illegally established by India, and the ruling cannot change the fact that the western section of the China-India border belongs to China.

However, what we need to know is that the special geography of the Ladakh region makes it sparsely populated, with about 260,000 people scattered over an area of 450,000 square kilometers of area. As they are mainly engaged in animal husbandry, these inhabitants are extremely mobile and come and go in and out of the Ladakh region several times a year, which is not in accordance with the requirements of international law that the territory must have a fixed population. In addition, since the Sino-Indian border dispute has not been resolved, there is currently no fixed natural border in the Ladakh region, so India unilaterally included it in its own territorial scope, which is a clear violation of the principles of international law.

Historically, the Ladakh region was a vassal state of the Tang Dynasty of China, and was later formally incorporated into China's territory during the Yuan Dynasty. However, during the British colonial period, the British colonists who ruled India attempted to annex this rich highland water source to India. Despite their proclamation of the so-called "independence of Ladakh", the Qing Dynasty in China and the new China today have never recognized this action. The fact that the Ladakh region has been an inalienable part of Chinese territory throughout the ages is indisputable.

In the face of India's provocations against the Ladakh region, China should also take certain actions. Considering that the Shiquan River is one of the main rivers in the Ladakh region, we can build a railway from Shigatse to the town of Shiquanhe in the country so that we can send troops to the region at any time. In addition, China has built dams and reservoirs in the upper reaches of the Shiquan River, and we have complete control over the amount of water downstream of the river. Considering the scarcity of water resources in the Ali area, we can appropriately increase the amount of water in the Shiquan River to meet the needs of the local people. As for the water supply for Indians in the Ladakh region, this is no longer something we should be concerned about.

In addition, in order to ensure the security of the border areas, it is necessary for China to provide more suitable equipment for the PLA stationed in the disputed border zone between China and India. Although the two sides have agreed on the "default rules of the game" of not firing guns in the border area, it is still necessary for China to develop and promote hand-to-hand combat and cold weapon confrontation equipment. China has always been known for its strong martial virtues, and the lessons learned by the Indian army in the Galwan Valley still terrify them. If Indian politicians and commanders forget this lesson, the PLA will not mind letting them recall.

In short, the Ladakh region is an integral part of China, and India has no right to make irresponsible remarks here. Sooner or later, Ladakh will return to the bosom of China. China and its people will continue to resolutely defend their territorial sovereignty and safeguard national unity and integrity. We hope that India will truly respect international law and norms and work with China to maintain regional peace and stability.
