Gao Yu, general manager of Intel China Technology, said in the theme sharing that Intel will work with partners, including Lenovo Group, to bring sufficient AI PCs to the market, and truly lead the new era of AI PCs through the integration of hardware innovation and software innovation.
It is understood that although computing power manufacturers have existed in the PC industry ecology before, their roles are also changing under the catalysis of large models. The guests at the meeting agreed that in terms of building local intelligent computing power, providing local computing power with CPU + GPU + NPU heterogeneous architecture solution is one of the most mature solutions at present. Heterogeneous hybrid computing power not only ensures the feasibility of terminal model inference, but also rapidly improves computing power, enabling terminal devices to carry larger and larger AI models and perform more and more complex tasks.
Previously, Intel has clarified the concept of AI PC, that is, a personal computer that can give full play to the capabilities of AI. By working together with a cloud or running a large language model independently on a local PC, AI PCs can radically improve and reshape the user's PC experience, unlocking more productivity and creativity.
At the conference, Intel's Gao Yu said, "AI workloads come in many shapes and sizes. So, there is no one-size-fits-all solution from the hardware. Therefore, based on years of Xi and market experience, we propose the concept of XPU, including GPU NPU CPU. ”
Gao also said that Lenovo and Intel are already advancing the development and innovation of AI experiences based on the upcoming Meteor Lake processor. Starting with Meteorlake, Intel will widely introduce AI technology into the PC field, leading hundreds of millions of PCs into the AI era, while providing a wide range of software models and tool support based on the huge x86 ecosystem.
It is worth mentioning that as early as October 24 this year, at the 9th Lenovo Innovation and Technology Conference, Yang Yuanqing, chairman of Lenovo Group, introduced a series of scientific and technological achievements such as Lenovo's first AI PC, large model compression technology, and artificial intelligence twin (AI Twin). And the executives of Nvidia, Intel, AMD, Microsoft, and Qualcomm at the scene, or present or connected, have stood for Lenovo.
Gao Yu further said that Lenovo, as an industry leader and Intel's core strategic partner for many years, has firmly come together in many strategic decisions. In the upcoming era of AI PCs, Intel will also work with Lenovo to promote the popularization and development of AI PCs.
