When collecting wind in Hainan, I paid special attention to the banyan tree. This tree grows countless aerial roots, which are deeply rooted in the ground, and can become a forest of trees, full of vitality, adding a new element to my creation. Xu Peichen said.

This is the second time in more than 20 years that Xu Peichen, who is over 70 years old, has come to Hainan to hold an exhibition, and the paintings on both exhibitions are mainly based on the theme of apes, flowers and birds, landscapes. Walking through the paintings in the exhibition hall, there are not only the Twelve Flower Gods series, but also calligraphy works, as well as his best ink ape paintings.

There are a total of 100 paintings here, all of which have been newly created in recent years. Xu Peichen said that compared with the first time he came to Hainan to hold an exhibition, several of his works depicted plantains, banyan trees and other plants, which were inspired by Hainan style.

I love to draw monkeys, and Hainan has endangered primate species Hainan gibbons, as well as macaques, which shows that I have a relationship with Hainan. Talking about the fate with Hainan, Xu Peichen opened the conversation. Over the years, he has been to Hainan almost every year to collect style, or to look for new elements of landscapes, flowers and birds in Hainan's coconut wind and sea charm, or to look for monkey footprints in the island's forests. "When I went to Nanwan Monkey Island, I found that the monkeys here are very close to people, so I can feel and observe them up close. I was also deeply impressed by the plants with Hainan characteristics, such as coconut trees and mangroves, and I will also apply these elements to my creations in the future. ”

During the conversation, Fujian tourists Xie Binling and his wife walked into the exhibition hall with their two little granddaughters, "The old professor's paintings are mainly monkeys, which are very innovative, and the trip to Hainan not only feels the natural scenery, but also can enjoy the monkey paintings full of wild interest, which is interesting and interesting." Xie Binling said.

In addition to the exhibition, Xu Peichen plans to celebrate the New Year in Ding'an this year, and spends more than ten days in depth. "In the past two days, I am going to see the Asian banyan king in Ding'an, as well as a lychee tree with a very long history, looking for more Hainan elements. Xu Peichen said that in the future, he hopes to hold exhibitions in Hainan on a regular basis, "I hope to come every year!" ”
