A few days ago, photography enthusiasts photographed the appearance of white cranes, painted storks and Oriental white storks at the same time in Shanwei, and the number of Oriental white storks was as high as more than 100 that day. According to the Provincial Forestry Bureau, these three species of migratory birds are all national first-class protected wild animals, among which the white crane is still the first record in Shanwei, and the "two big and one small" white crane in the same frame is also relatively rare in the province.

It's so rare to photograph three different rare migratory birds at the same place and at the same time! Liu Xiaoying, a photography enthusiast, said in surprise. According to his recollection, on that day, he first saw a flock of white storks from a distance, and then the white cranes and painted storks came into view one by one, so he quickly took out his camera to capture this rare scene.

In the picture, three white cranes and several oriental white storks rest in the reeds, and then the white cranes fly up, and on the other side, a painted stork stands in the stream, its pink back feathers looming. After seeing the footage taken by Liu Xiaoying, many bird-watching enthusiasts went to the local area to see the true face of these birds.

Liu Yang, a professor at Sun Yat-sen University's School of Ecology, said that a number of photographers had recently photographed nearly 200 Oriental white storks in Dongshan Village, accounting for 2% of its global population. With less than 10,000 birds in the world, a wetland is of great conservation value if 1% of the individual population of a bird is present on top of international standards.

The author learned that the Dongshan Village Wetland is the breeding ground of the purple water pheasant, a national second-class protected wild animal, with a population of more than 300 individuals. At the same time, the wetland in this area has also recently welcomed a variety of rare migratory birds such as Oriental White Stork, White Crane, Painted Stork, Black-faced Spoonbill, White Spoonbill, White-fronted Goose, Little Swan Swan, etc., attracting ecological photographers and bird-watching enthusiasts from all over the country.

According to experts, in the past, the wintering grounds of white cranes and oriental white storks were mainly in the Yangtze River basin in China. "Shanwei is a 'feng shui treasure land' where many migratory birds settle for the winter, and 258 species of birds have been recorded. The relevant person in charge of Shanwei Forestry Bureau introduced.

The person in charge said that for a long time, Shanwei City has given full play to the role of the forest chief system and the inter-departmental joint meeting system to combat illegal wildlife activities, gravity crackdown on illegal and criminal actions against migratory birds and other wild animals, strengthen field inspection and management, comprehensively check hunting tools, strengthen supervision and publicity, and take multiple measures to support the "umbrella" of migratory bird migration, and the illegal trade of migratory birds and other wild animals has been effectively curbed.
