Hello everyone, today we are going to talk about time.
When it comes to time, I believe we are all familiar with it. If I were to ask you what time is, you might just open your mouth, and the time is an hour, two hours, a day, two days, a year, or 50 years, and so on. But it's really that simple.
In fact, time is one of the most brain-burning topics in human history. Why is it said that time burns the brain? Albert Einstein once proposed the theory that time does not really exist. It is a false illusion of our human beings. But about 90% of all people on Earth don't believe that time doesn't exist.
Speaking of which, you can ask yourself questions. What exactly is time? I don't think you can get the right answer anytime soon. If you have any questions about what I said, you can put your thoughts on the barrage, or write in the comment area, and talk to you about it.
Time it is not like the flowers and trees around us, cats and dogs, if someone wants to ask you what color is this flower? You can give the right answer in an instant, because we can clearly judge from our vision what the result is, but the time is different. The human understanding of time is defined by a single feeling.
If there is no definition of one hour, two hours, one day and two days, then someone is going to ask you, how long did you sleep? How do you answer? You may be speechless and have only a rough estimate of how long you've been asleep.
With the transmission of human culture for thousands of years, the definition of time has been slowly derived, and there is a unified standard scale. In the world, all instruments that can measure time will have a certain error to a greater or lesser extent.
One of the most accurate measuring instruments is the atomic clock. It is made by using a certain resonance frequency of atoms with extremely high precision. Timing instruments. The error of 20 million years is only one second at most. And the current UTC is the coordinated universal time of the atomic clock. From the original cesium atomic clock to the current mercury atomic clock, the error is constantly decreasing.
In ancient times, human beings around the world did not have a true unity of time. Take ancient China as an example, there was a ten-hour system, a 12-hour system, and a 24-hour system. The 24-hour clock we use today was handed down from ancient Greece.
They divided the day into two 12 hours, 12 hours during the day and 12 hours at night, and then divided each hour equally into 60 minutes. Each minute is divided into 60 minutes at the same time, and the final result is one second. To put it simply, 1/86,400 of a day is a second.
Later, human beings continued to search for laws of change of objects in nature that could be similar to the length of time of this second defined by human beings, and finally discovered the concept of atomic species. When an atomic clock transitions from the ground state to the excited state, it releases a wave of energy。And the frequency at which this energy is released can correspond to the time of one second. And the error can be minimized.
The concept of time has always been the most traditional definition of this, and it was not until Einstein proposed the general theory of relativity that people's perception of time was completely overturned. Albert Einstein said that time is an illusion, and that it is not something that we humans traditionally think of as objectively existing.
For example, if you are in front of your phone, if you read this, it takes you ten minutes. Traditionally, you would think that your friends also spent 10 minutes with them. This means that if a person reaches the end of his life and survives for 100 years, it also means that another person will also reach the end of his life.
Albert Einstein overturned this fact at the speed of light. He argues that if we humans can travel at the speed of light, then our human time will be forbidden to stand still.
Imagine what you're seeing in front of you. How did he teleport into your eyes? Is it transmitted to the retina by light? If you can escape from the object you are seeing now at the speed of light, does that mean that the object you are seeing now will be running after your eyes at the speed of light? This means that everything around you is still at this moment.
If this continues for a while, then when your friends have come to the end of their lives, you are still a young and energetic beautiful girl or young man.
After Einstein's theory was proposed, it completely overturned people's definition of time. So if time, as Einstein said, is an illusion, then what is time? No scientist can give a definitive answer, because if time proves that it does not exist, it will completely overturn human perception for thousands of years.
If you know about Einstein's theory of relativity, you may find that in most of Einstein's theories, he is not used to using the concept of time. Because he believed that the definition of time was imprecise and unscientific, he called time and space together time and space. This is also the concept he puts forward most frequently in his theory.
He believes that time and space can affect each other, for example, we can find that around a black hole, there will be a certain distortion in his space. Space warps, on the other hand, slow down with time. Here I can recommend a movie called Interstellar, which is probably about a similar topic to us today.
Although Einstein gave a new definition of time and space, even so, he did not dare to give the affirmation of time when he was dying, and it did not exist. Because he has not been able to explain a phenomenon. If it is true according to his own words, then time and space can merge into one thing.
If we analyze it in this way, does it mean that the properties of space will have the same properties in time? For example, in space, we can travel up and down, left and right at will, but why can we only travel from this one direction in time? And the only direction of this is the future, why can't humanity go back to the past?
Theoretically, the up, down, left, and right aspects of time are real, but so far humans have only been able to understand the front and back of time, that is, the past and the future. Because in many physical formulas about time, if the number of time is added to the formula, a symbol is added to the formula. Then the whole theorem of physics will still hold.
Personally, other temporal directions may exist in another dimension. It's just that we humans are subject to the limitations of the present world. As a result, we cannot understand the definition of time in other dimensions. This may be the real reason why we can't go back to the past.
Scientists once used the second theorem of thermodynamics to prove that time is irreversible, which is also known as the irreversible theorem in the scientific community. Scientists did it when they were demonstrating this shop. An experiment in which a drop of ink is poured into a glass of clear water.
After entering the water, the ink will slowly dissipate over time, gradually disappearing in the cup, and the water in the cup will also become a colored water. Why do scientists call this glass of water an irreversible phenomenon? Because in their opinion, this glass of water with pigment will not return to its original state. That is, they don't take a glass of colored water, then condense the pigment in the cup into a drop of ink, and then revert to its original state.
Of course, some people have to ask, why is the water in the cup irreversible? No scientist can give the right answer to this question, because no one has ever encountered the opposite phenomenon, but we have not seen the phenomenon of reverse flow occur, does it really mean that there is no reversible phenomenon? The same is true in our world, where we will become accustomed to seeing too much, but just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
How can we explain the existence of a world that is completely opposite to ours? A drop of ink drops into the cup and slowly spreads throughout the cup. In the opposite world, the colored water in the cup slowly coalesces into a drop of ink pigment. Two completely opposite worlds, in the eyes of humans in their respective worlds, each other's worlds belong to time regression. And all the matter that makes up the world opposite to ours is made up of antimatter.
And this antimatter has now been confirmed by scientists to be real. When positive and antimatter collide with each other, a huge amount of energy will occur, and the two sides will annihilate each other and cancel each other.
If one day, our technology reaches a certain stage. So will scientists use antimatter to take us to the opposite world? Will we use antimatter to make us live our lives all over again? Perhaps at that time, humanity will never have any regrets again. Okay, that's all for this issue's article, if you like my article, please give it a thumbs up**, and we'll see you next time.
