Successful cases of Made in China going global: Practical experience sharing of the Ozon cross-border e-commerce platform.
In order to achieve the grand goal of "Made in China" step by step, after comprehensive and in-depth research and analysis, I finally chose Ozon, a cross-border e-commerce platform independently created by Russians, and its extensive coverage of the Russian market. The Russian Association of Internet Companies published some data on online sales in the country last year. I firmly believe that unlike the B2B model, which needs to worry about the profitability of intermediate links and high traffic costs, B2C operation channels have more singular and pure characteristics. In 2021, after connecting with veterans in the pet-related industry, I was pleasantly surprised to find that ozon is a gold mine of endless opportunities and offers a lot of room for our products and brands to grow.
Based on this, before entering the platform, we have carefully classified the various product lines of pet products, including food, tableware, hygiene products, etc. At the same time, we also used the data analysis software Tingmuyun to conduct an in-depth analysis of competitors in each category on the platform. By comparison, we found that food pet products have matured on Ozon, the market is extremely competitive, and the industry concentration is high, and the industry is relatively low. This makes the explosive power of our brand image focusing on mid-to-high-end consumer groups in the market limited to a certain extent.
However, in the course of the research, we were keenly aware that "smart pet appliances" are still an uncultivated land on the Ozon platform, and no benchmark brand has yet appeared. So, we decided to enter this field immediately. Since joining Ozon in April, we have been able to optimize our store after two months of careful operation. Monthly sales successfully exceeded 20 million rubles.
During Black Friday in 2021, although we have not been in operation for half a year, we have achieved two months of sales during the Black Friday period. This achievement not only exceeded our expectations, but also unexpectedly led the platform's pet appliance industry to the market segment of intelligent appliances, bringing us unprecedented success.
