On March 10, 1957, the first batch of migrants from the Xin'anjiang Reservoir in Chun'an began to relocate. Since then, this unprecedented and magnificent migration of nearly 300,000 people from the Xin'anjiang Reservoir has begun. Sixty years have passed since then.
Sixty years are a flick of a finger, and sixty years are rotated.
Sixty years ago, in order to support the construction of the national hydropower project, nearly 300,000 Chun'an sons and daughters left their hometowns, brought their children and daughters, and bid farewell to their beloved homes, relatives and friends who had lived for generations, and moved to other places. At this moment, the older generation of immigrants still vividly remember the scene!
300,000 outstanding sons and daughters of Chun'an, taking care of their small families, have made such dedication and sacrifice to support the country's hydropower construction!
In that special historical era, the country's immigration policy and propaganda slogan were: early storage of water, early generation of electricity, reservoir resettlement should contribute to the country. Therefore, the simultaneous development of land and water, day and night, became the inevitable mode and the only choice for the entire migration process at that time.
Looking back on the Xin'anjiang immigration process 60 years ago, it was really a magnificent heroic feat! The Republic should always remember our 300,000 immigrants from the Xin'anjiang Reservoir! It was they who carried the great mission and made great sacrifices for the start of the country's industrialization, and it was they who took care of everyone, gave up their small family, and dedicated their selfless everything for the country! ......
Who in the history of immigration has experienced such hardships and hardships, like the Red Army's Long March?
The special operation of the country in this relocation is truly arduous and arduous. In that vigorous period when the satellite was about to go to the sky and the great leap forward in national construction, our immigrants could not escape the fate of the fire at the city gate and the fish in the pond! An order demanded that 300,000 reservoir migrants must be relocated unconditionally within two years, and the task was arduous and the relocation was as fast as fleeing in wartime! That scene still makes me feel unbelievable and incredible! In particular, the second, third, or even countless disorderly repeated immigrants who moved to Jiangxi Province are even more miserable, and can be called a unique sad past in the history of immigration in the Republic!
It is conceivable that if it were not for their large-scale migration, how could there have been such a large installed capacity in China and a first-class scale of domestic power generation? How can there be a poor and white rise of new China's industry? (It is said that the power generation capacity of the power station at that time could supply the energy needs of most of China in the whole of East China and the coastal areas).
Without the great sacrifices and dedication made by the outstanding 300,000 sons and daughters of Chun'an, how could there be such a beautiful national first-class tourist resort Qiandao Lake today, which is known as the beautiful mountains and beautiful waters?!!
The resettlement of the Xin'anjiang Reservoir is the first large-scale resettlement in the history of hydropower construction in New China. At that time, it was the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and economic construction was in ruins! Then, it encountered the most difficult period of the country's economic construction in three years (natural disasters).
What's even worse is that in that crazy era of satellites and the Great Leap Forward, just in time for the national special operation of our immigrants, this unusual and special migration story was naturally forged and interpreted. It also makes the suffering experience we have been in throughout the years of immigration undoubtedly worse!
Looking back on the tragic and bitter history of immigrants in those years, it all makes people cry! It is not an exaggeration to describe this situation with the word "tragic", and it is still so reluctant to look back today!
At the end of the 50s, the Xin'anjiang Reservoir immigrants were unprecedented in the history of immigration in New China, with their large scale, difficult conditions, large number of migrated population, and wide area of migrating.
Looking back, you can imagine how difficult our immigration environment was at that time! And how much sacrifice did our older generation of immigrants give?

Sixty years ago, Chun and Sui counties were restored to a geographical map.

A twenty-six-year-old young man spent five years before and after, and finally drew a map of Chun'an and Sui'an counties in the ** period nearly 100 years ago.
