Porsche is expanding its Panamera model range with the 4 e-hybrid and 4s e-hybrid models. This is Porsche's response to the particularly strong interest in efficient, dynamic electric hybrid systems in many markets. The Panamera will be available in four performance versions with this advanced powertrain technology.
The Panamera 4 e-hybrid is particularly efficient and versatile. In order to generate powerful acceleration, Porsche has combined a new electric hybrid system with a significantly improved 29-liter V6 twin-turbo petrol engine (224 kW 304 PS) combined. With a system output of 346 kW and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, it only takes 4 to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h1 second, the top speed can reach 280 km/h. The Panamera 4 e-hybrid has an all-electric range of 96 km (over 59 miles) in the WLTP cycle (EAER City).
The Panamera 4S e-hybrid places greater emphasis on driving dynamics and continuous power delivery in the high rev range. Its 2The 9-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine produces 260 kW (353 PS). The system output is 400 kW and the maximum torque is 750 Nm. This allows the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid to be able to operate in 3It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 290 km/h.
All Panamera e-hybrid models offer greater electric range, faster charging, better throttle response and better driving performance in almost all areas compared to the previous generation, with the new high-voltage battery providing around 45% of the capacity in the same space. At the same time, the new 11 kW on-board AC charger reduces charging time to 2 hours and 39 minutes. With 140 kW (190 ps) and 450 Nm of torque, the new electric motor delivers more power than its predecessor. It is also integrated into the housing in an efficient and weight-optimized manner and into the oil cooling cycle of the PDK gearbox. The internal rotor design** rotates inside the stator) reduces the mass inertia by 50%, resulting in improved throttle response. With an energy** of up to 88 kW, the electric motor also helps to significantly increase the electric range of the Panamera e-Hybrid model.
Four optimised e-hybrid driving modes, as well as improved Sport and Sport Plus modes, further optimise the efficiency of the e-hybrid model. The vehicle is always started in pure electric e-power mode. As soon as the battery's state of charge falls below a certain minimum, the system automatically switches to hybrid automatic mode, adapting the operating strategy to the current driving situation. In addition, with the active route guidance of hybrid vehicles, the operation strategy can be further optimized by understanding the route ahead. In this way, the proportion of electric drive distance in urban traffic can be maximized and efficiency can be increased. To do this, the system uses car and navigation data.
In e-hold mode, the battery's current state of charge is retained. On the other hand, in e-charge mode, the internal combustion engine can charge the battery up to 80% outside the city and at speeds above 55 km/h, while the Panamera takes advantage of the efficiency benefits of the hybrid drive in urban traffic. In "Sport" and "Sport Plus" modes, Porsche has reduced the battery's target state of charge to 20 percent and 30 percent, respectively (previously 30 percent and 80 percent). This increases efficiency without sacrificing performance.
Porsche equips all models of the ** Panamera with adaptive two-chamber air suspension, with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with dual-valve shock absorbers as standard. The innovative Porsche Active Ride active suspension is also available for the e-hybrid model. It combines the ability to provide optimized traction and cornering performance with a high degree of comfort. Each individual damper (also equipped with dual-valve technology) has an electro-hydraulic pump, powered by a 400-volt system, that can be used to actively build up force in the direction of rebound and compression. As a result, the suspension almost completely absorbs the body movements caused by imperfections in the road and always maintains the level of the vehicle during dynamic driving operations.
The dampers operate at a frequency of up to 13 Hz, which means that they can adjust the setting up to 13 times per second, allowing them to react quickly to the respective driving situation and road surface. The technology also enables innovative features such as overcompensation for pitch and roll movements, as well as body lift when entering and exiting the car.
* All Panamera models feature a sporty, innovative design. The exterior of the front is characterized by standard matrix LED headlamps of new styling and additional horizontal air intakes. At the rear of the sports sedan, the continuous taillights and frameless rear window set the ** Panamera apart. Silver window trim enhances the side lines.
The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid comes standard with 19-inch wheels, black brake calipers, and matrix LED headlights. An innovative high-resolution high-definition matrix LED lighting system is available. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid features 20-inch wheels from the Panamera AeroDesign, silver sports exhaust pipes, and red brake calipers. Acid green and black brake calipers are available as an option. The Panamera 4S e-Hybrid front axle is fitted with 10-piston brake calipers as standard. It can also be used with PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes) in combination with 21-inch wheels. The ceramic composite disc measures 440 mm for the front axle and 410 mm for the rear axle.
The Porsche Panamera 4 e-Hybrid and Panamera 4S e-Hybrid are now available to order as sports cars. Panamera's extended standard equipment includes a parking assist system and a cooling smartphone tray for wireless charging up to 15 watts. Options such as rear-axle steering, remote parking assist, Porsche Innodrive are also available, including active lane keeping, passenger display and air quality system. Executive body styles with longer wheelbases are available according to specific markets; Options such as four-zone automatic climate control or a large center console are included as standard.
Deliveries in Europe will begin in the second quarter of 2024.
