Tegucigalpa, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- The first Chinese language and painting course after the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Honduras was launched in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, on Jan. 29. The opening ceremony of the course was attended by Honduras Minister of Culture Vélez, Secretary of the Honda Congress and Chairman of the China Friendship Group, and Yu Bo, Chinese Ambassador to Honduras.
In the morning, the ceremony was held in the auditorium of the National Pedagogical University of Francisco Morazán, where the teaching and activities of the Confucius Institute were introduced. According to reports, the Chinese language and Chinese painting course is jointly promoted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Panama, the Ibuelas Cultural Center of Honduras, and the Honduran Sustainable Development Network.
Yu Bo said in his speech that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hong Kong nearly a year ago, the two sides have actively implemented the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and the cooperation in various fields has achieved remarkable results. The course of Chinese language and Chinese painting was launched in Hong Kong, which is the highlight of the cultural exchange between China and Hong Kong. China is ready to work with Hong Kong to promote mutual learning among civilizations and help bilateral relations reach a new level.
Velez said that the teaching activities of the Confucius Institute are rich and colorful, and the Hong Kong side hopes that the people will benefit from the teaching activities of the Confucius Institute, and hopes that the development of Hong Kong-China relations will continue to bring more opportunities to the people of the two countries.
