My granddaughter's one-week kindergarten session has changed my perception of early childhood education
I always thought that I had a deep understanding and awareness of education and the growth of children. However, when my granddaughter started kindergarten, I was completely turned upside down. This week, I witnessed first-hand the selfless dedication and superb teaching skills of the kindergarten teachers, as well as the ingenuity and innocence of the children. This experience made me rethink all my thoughts about early childhood education.
On the first day, when my granddaughter walked into the kindergarten, she looked scared and uneasy. As a young child, she had not yet settled into her new surroundings and looked lonely and lost.
However, all the teachers were very patient in comforting her, telling her stories, and taking her to various activities to make her feel happy and confident. In that moment, I was amazed to find that these teachers were not only mentors to the children, but also their friends and family.
By the next day, the granddaughter had grown confident and was playing with the other children and learning new things. When I went to pick her up, she happily told me that she had done a drawing and showed me her results at the end of school. I have found that kindergarten teachers not only encourage children to use their creativity and talents, but also praise them for their efforts and achievements.
On the third day, I entered my granddaughter's classroom, and I found that every child was seriously learning and thinking. Teachers use interactive games, songs, and stories to guide children through new knowledge and skills. They let children explore and discover instead of telling them the answers directly. This interactive teaching method makes it easier for children to understand and grasp knowledge.
On the fourth day, I saw my granddaughter sharing her little toys with other children, and I was very touched by the scene. This is because kindergarten teachers teach children to care for and respect each other, as well as how to deal with conflicts and difficulties.
Through this training, children can build friendship and trust, and develop an attitude of cooperation with each other.
On the fifth day, the granddaughter participated in an outdoor activity, which was her first time in the park. There, she learned how to climb trees, play slides, and meet many new friends. I am pleased to see that the kindergarten teachers have given the children the opportunity to connect with nature and exercise their physical and sensory development through outdoor activities.
In the end, when I came home with my granddaughter in my arms, I felt very happy and satisfied. I realized that education is not only about imparting knowledge and skills, but also about nurturing children's healthy growth and mental strength.
The kindergarten teachers are not only mentors to my granddaughter, but also her friends and family. They educate each child with selfless love and patience to make them confident, intelligent, and happy.
