Chapter 1 Preface Listen to me, Zhang Tianyi's story
Before reading this book, listen to me tell a story about Zhang Tianyi.
Zhang Tianyi was born in September 1906 and died in April 1985.
Zhang Tianyi's ancestral home is in Hunan, and his father was promoted in the last years of the Qing Dynasty. At that time, the ultimate goal of studying and learning was to become an official, but Zhang Tianyi's father didn't like to be an official, but he worked as a teacher and a staff member successively, and was especially good at calligraphy, which became his way of supporting his family. In order to make a living, his father took the family to Nanjing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, and Zhang Tianyi was born in Nanjing.
Zhang Tianyi's father was a very enlightened intellectual, a "witty old man who loved to tell sarcastic things". I like to read progressive books, newspapers and magazines, my thinking is very avant-garde, my requirements for my children are not so harsh, and I let my children's hobbies develop, which has a great influence on my children. Zhang Tianyi has lived in a relaxed and free family environment since he was a child, and he is very naughty. When I was in school, I rarely passed my homework, and I often got into fights with my classmates, and I liked to play pranks the most, and I was very happy to see the teacher being angry with him. Despite such disobedience to school discipline, the school did not punish him, the only reason is that he writes well, whenever someone visits the school, Zhang Tianyi is called to write a pair of mud and gold in public - to win glory for the school, the principal and teachers are happy, Zhang Tianyi broke into the disaster, and was pardoned.
Although Zhang Tianyi sometimes fights with his classmates, he is actually very good with his classmates and often tells them stories. Some stories were told to him by the old nanny and porter at home, and then to his classmates when he went to school the next day. His classmates loved to hear it, so they pestered him and asked, "What happened later?" "And later? But when the old nanny and the porter told Zhang Tianyi, there were not so many "later", so Zhang Tianyi had to make up these "later" stories, and he became an expert in making up stories. When he was in middle school, Zhang Tianyi often went to the library to read books, mostly reading some works translated by Lin Yutang, and also liked to read the detective** published in the magazine at that time, so he tried to write ** by himself and submitted it to the magazine.
Zhang Tianyi really started writing in 1928, when he was already a 22-year-old young man. He wrote the short story "Three and a Half Days of Dreams", which was published in the magazine "Rushing Stream", and in the following decades, many long, medium and short stories appeared, and he became a writer.
But he is a writer who is a bit different from other writers, in addition to writing for ** to see**, he also writes ** for children, and this book is written for children.
(Tips: The full text ** can be read by clicking on the card at the end of the article).
This is also inseparable from his temper, personality, interests, and hobbies.
I said that Zhang Tianyi was very naughty when he was a child, and his parents didn't care too much about his naughtiness, so until he grew up, he still had childishness - of course, when he grew up as an adult, he couldn't climb trees and go to the house to catch crickets and fight like children, and the childishness at this time was called "childlike innocence". He writes to children to see the world like a child and describe the world through the eyes of children. However, since it is **, it is a literary work, it is a creation, it cannot be exactly the same as our ordinary life, eating, talking about how to use chopsticks, what dishes to eat, how to use spoons, what soup to drink; Or sleep, how to spread the quilt, how to lie on the bed, ......Such stories are too uninteresting, too unimaginative.
Therefore, when Zhang Tianyi tells stories and writes ** to children, he has to use his childlike innocence, such as "Strange Place", looking at the urban life he has never seen from the perspective of Xiao Minzi; In "Da Lin and Xiao Lin", the experience of Da Lin and Xiao Lin is also full of magical colors. At the same time, he also wants to tell young readers in the story how to deal with life, how to learn and understand the world, such as "The Story of Not Using Brains", which contains a very important truth - as for what the truth is, the young readers should figure it out for themselves!
Zhang Tianyi is also a very funny and humorous person, which is very similar to his father's personality. Usually, he likes to tell jokes to people, and when he finishes telling them, he will laugh with them. He also enjoys spending time with children and writing stories for them. Later, as he grew older, his body gradually weakened, and he suffered from cerebrovascular disease, unable to move half of his body, unable to write, and unable to even speak. However, he was very persevering, he insisted on exercising every day, insisting on writing, and, even when he could not speak, he was still cheerful and optimistic, and people could often hear his hearty laughter ......
Here by the way, me. When I was a child, I often listened to Zhang Tianyi tell me stories, and that was every night, after dinner, when he and I went out for a walk. He led me and told me as he walked, sometimes telling the story of Sun Wukong, sometimes making it up on the fly, such as "Xiao Tie's story" - Xiao Tie is a girl, often I do something wrong, Xiao Tie also made the same mistake, Zhang Tianyi told Xiao Tie how to correct his mistakes, in fact, he was talking about me. Now that I'm older, looking back, it's a great way to help children in this way.
Let me tell you, Zhang Tianyi is my father.
