Chery has launched a new new energy product series "Fengyun", aiming to compete fiercely with competitors such as Geely's Galaxy and Changan's Qiyuan. The first model, the Fengyun A8, has been launched, and the next one to be the Fengyun T6 will be on the scene. As a plug-in hybrid version of the Chery Explore 06, the Fengyun T6 is scheduled to be officially launched on February 29, with an estimated price range of 120,000-150,000 yuan, and competitors are mainly targeting the BYD Song Pro DM-i.
Judging from the show cars at the previous auto show, Fengyun T6 adopts a square and full closed front face, and is equipped with a new Fengyun series logo. Although the rectangular headlight groups on both sides can still see the shadow of Chery Explore 06, through the penetration of an LED light strip, a sense of science and technology is created. In addition, the high and low beam light clusters of the Fengyun T6 are covered with blackened trim panels and extend the arrangement of trim elements to enhance the sense of refinement, while it is also equipped with a large trapezoidal lower grille.
The side of the body is basically the same as that of the Chery Exploration 06, with a square silhouette with a tough waistline and prominent wheel eyebrows, showing a sense of muscular strength. A down-down floating roof, concealed door handles and new two-tone semi-closed petal-shaped wheels combine sportiness and style. In addition, the Fengyun T6 also adds an exclusive logo on the front fenders, and the trim strips on the side skirts are also different. In terms of body size, the length, width and height are 4540 (4501) 1865 1670mm, and the wheelbase is 2672mm.
The rear shape basically continues the design style of Chery Discovery 06, equipped with a dot-matrix style through-type taillight cluster, and the embedded "Chery" English logo. Different from the hard-core rear surround of the Exploration 06, the Fengyun T6 adopts a full black style, and adds silver guard embellishments and diffuser design, with the shape of the air ducts on both sides and the large rear wing, which further enhances the sporty temperament.
In terms of interior, Fengyun T6 continues the design language of Chery Explore 06, and the center console is equipped with a vertical large-size central control screen and a rectangular full LCD instrument panel, creating a strong scientific and technological atmosphere. It is expected that the Qualcomm 8155 chip will also be applied to this model. The difference is that Fengyun T6 adopts a pocket gear shift mechanism, so the sub-instrument panel has been changed to a new layout of the mobile phone wireless charging panel, dual cup holders and a row of physical buttons. In addition, the interior has been refurbished with marbled trim panels, and the interior door panels have been redesigned with paddle window buttons.
In terms of power, the Fengyun T6 will be equipped with 1The 5T plug-in hybrid system has a maximum engine power of 115kW, which is the same as that of the Fengyun A8. It is also expected to feature a 150kW drive motor mated to a single-speed DHT gearbox. In terms of battery, Fengyun T6 will use BYD's Fodi's lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a capacity of 18316kWh, pure electric range of 93km, loss of fuel consumption of 49L 100km, combined fuel consumption of 127l/100km。Of course, more information about the new car is yet to be officially announced.
According to the plan, Fengyun Series will launch a total of 5 new cars in 2024. In addition to Fengyun A8 and T6, Fengyun A8 Pro is scheduled to be launched on March 30, with a range of 150,000-170,000 yuan; Fengyun T9 is scheduled to be listed on April 30, with a range of 150,000-170,000 yuan; Fengyun T10 is planned to be listed on May 15, with a range of 180,000-250,000 yuan; Fengyun T8 is scheduled to be launched on August 30, with a range of 130,000-160,000 yuan. In addition, the Fengyun A8 will also undergo a facelift on October 30.
