Affected by the southward movement of cold air, many places in Guangxi issued gale warning signals, with northerly gusts of 7 to 8 along the coast and sea surface of Beibu Gulf, and the minimum temperature in some sea areas dropped to 7 to 9, which posed a threat to fishermen's operations at sea. Yesterday (24th), the Guangxi Fangchenggang Coast Guard Bureau successfully rescued 2 fishermen in distress.
At about 8 o'clock yesterday morning, the Fangchenggang Coast Guard Bureau received a report that two fishing boats were in the waters north of Baixugong Reef, and due to excessive wind and waves at sea, they were flooded by seawater and lost power, and two fishermen were trapped at sea and urgently needed rescue. After receiving the alarm, the Daling ship of the bureau immediately went to the rescue. Due to the influence of the cold wave in the waters of the Beibu Gulf, the sea gusts reached 9 and the wave height was about 3 meters, resulting in the constant change of the location of the fishing raft in distress.
At 9:20 a.m., law enforcement officers spotted a fishing raft in distress and immediately approached it. However, due to the large fluctuations of the sea surface swells, the Daling ship and the fishing platoon in distress are prone to collision hazards. While laying out the crash pads, the law enforcement officers are preparing on the deck to assist the fishermen to board the ship.
After the rescue was completed, the law enforcement officers draped the two fishermen in blankets to protect them from the cold, and delivered food and ginger tea prepared in advance. At present, the two fishermen in distress have been safely returned to the pier.
