Passing through Fanchuan Road in Chang'an District, near Sifu Village, you can see that there are two towers in the middle of the Shaoling Plain in the east.
Pagoda is a kind of architectural form introduced to China from India, which was originally used to worship or collect Buddha bones, Buddha statues, Buddhist scriptures, and monks' remains.
The two towers seen are Huayan Temple Towers, there are two in total, and they are located on the Shaoling Yuan half-slope in the north of Dongsifu Village, Weiqu Street, Chang'an District. Huayan Temple is a Tang Dynasty building, the temple was destroyed in the Qing Dynasty, but the twin towers have been preserved.
The larger one on the east side is the tomb tower of Zen Master Du Shun. Four-edged seven-level pavilion-style brick tower, 228 meters, the bottom side length is 56 meters. The top of the tower is a vase-type brick tower stop. The bottom south side is open to the tower gate, and the other three sides are attached to the earth plain. Above the second floor, there are three bays on each side, all of which are made of bricks to build hidden pillars and door arches. Each layer is stacked with astringent eaves, and between the water chestnut teeth, the eaves are thick and far, and the four corners are hung with iron bells, and the points are collected layer by layer. The top layer of the banner stone is engraved with the word "Yan Lord", and the third layer is inlaid"There is no "Pure Light Pagoda" carved stone.
When you come to Huayan Temple, tourists will follow the prompts and brick the pagoda clockwise. When you see the iron bell on the tower, you will think that there is an iron bell in the ancient tower, and the temple will be more aura when the wind blows the bell.
It's a pity that I didn't see the scenery of the wind blowing the bell when I went, but I still felt good when I saw the bell at the corner of the tower.
The small tower on the west side is the tomb tower of the monk Chengguan of the Qingliang National Teacher. Six-sided seven-level pavilion-style brick tower, 162 meters, the bottom side is 172 meters. The base of the tower is 22 layers of Sumeru, and the top of the tower is the vase-type stone tower stop. The tower was originally exposed to only five floors of the ground, and the base of the tower and the Sumeru seat were buried in the soil. Each layer of the tower body is astringent and anti-stacked astringent out of the eaves, and the eaves are decorated with door arches. The second layer is embedded"The tower of the Tang Dynasty Qingliang National Teacher Miaojue"Carved stone. In 1985, due to the tilt of the tower body for rescue, a stone letter was found in the Sumeru seat, which contained a pale yellow jade bottle and contained a five-color relic. At the same time, a gilded bronze Buddha statue was found in the third layer of the tower body.
Huayan Temple is one of the "Eight Sects of Buddhism", the ancestral court of "Huayan Sect", and one of the famous Fanchuan Eight Temples in the Tang Dynasty.
Huayan Temple and the existing Xingjiao Temple, Niutou Temple, which belong to the same two Fanchuan Eight Great Temples, are all on the Shaoling Yuan Semi-Plain, and in the middle of the Xingjiao Temple and the Niutou Temple, from the location point of view, although they are all in the Shaoling Yuan halfway mountainside, but the location of Huayan Temple is more dangerous.
The twin towers of Huayan Temple are also the twin towers that can be seen most clearly through Fan Chuan, which arouses great interest among people. Of course, the Xingjiao Temple Tower is also very powerful.
After seeing the two towers, there is a huge bell next to it, and visitors can strike the bell, and the bell hammer reads "light bell strikes three times".
It is said that striking the bell three times represents blessing, Lu and longevity. The blessing here refers to the blessing of the door, Lu refers to the ** Houlu, and the longevity refers to the prolongation of life, so all the people who go to the temple to burn incense and worship the Buddha have to hit the bell three times to pray for good health, blessing and auspiciousness, the elimination of troubles, and the growth of good roots.
