Barcelona, February 26, 2023 – During MWC24, Huawei unveiled a series of innovative 5G-A (5G Advanced) achievements, providing strong support for operators around the world to build 5G-A networks in different areas and multiple paths. Cao Ming, President of Huawei's Wireless Network Product Line, delivered an important speech at the meeting, announcing that with the completion of industry elements, the world has officially entered the first year of 5G-A commercialization.
Cao Ming emphasized that Huawei's full range of 5G-A solutions, especially its core capabilities of "native GIGA" and "native green", are helping global operators smoothly move towards the 5G-A era in different frequency bands and through multiple paths. This important milestone marks the further maturation and commercialization of 5G technology.
After three years of joint efforts by the industry, 5G-A has gone from a vision to a reality. At present, the pace of 5G-A commercialization is accelerating around the world, with the Middle East taking the lead in achieving large-scale commercialization, while operators in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America are also actively verifying 10Gbps capabilities to fully prepare for the upcoming 5G-A commercialization.
To support operators in smoothly evolving to 5G-A in different frequency bands and through multiple paths, Huawei has launched a full range of innovative 5G-A Gigagreen product solutions. This solution not only provides a superior 10x performance improvement through ultra-wideband, multi-antenna technology (i.e., "native GIGA" capability), but also achieves the "0 bit 0 watt" green energy saving goal (i.e., "native green" capability) at the architecture, hardware, and software system-wide level. These solutions have been widely used around the world to help operators build high-performance, efficient, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly 5G-A networks.
In terms of specific practices, Huawei has demonstrated a number of successful cases. For example, 64T MetaAAU using ELAA technology achieves high- and low-band co-coverage and ubiquitous 5Gbps experience. The FDD ultra-wideband upgrade supports all bands, laying a solid foundation for a 5Gbps experience infrastructure network. mmWave native ultra-large bandwidth delivers the ultimate experience of about 10Gbps. At the same time, the Lampsite X solution brings 10Gbps to indoor scenarios, providing more possibilities for commercial applications. In addition, Huawei's full range of 5G-A devices also support the "0 Bit 0 Watt" energy-saving mode, which consumes less than 10W of power when idle and can wake up on demand within seconds, further reducing energy consumption and operating costs.
Cao Ming concluded: "Those who do often succeed, and those who do often come." Huawei's full range of GigaGreen solutions are committed to providing the strongest performance with the least amount of resources, helping global operators build networks with excellent performance, outstanding efficiency, and energy conservation and environmental protection. We look forward to working with our global partners to win the next chapter of the 5G-A era." ”
