The second session of the 16th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress successfully completed its agenda and concluded successfully at the Shanghai World Expo Center this morning (January 27).
The executive chairmen of the closing meeting are Chen Jining, Wu Qing, Huang Lixin, Zheng Gangmiao, Zhou Huilin, Zong Ming, Chen Jing, Zhang Quan, Xu Yisong, Zhu Mingfu, Zhang Peirong, Zhao Ruqing, and Xue Hong. Huang Lixin presided over the meeting.
Today (27th), the second session of the 16th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress was successfully concluded at the Shanghai World Expo Center.
The congress successively voted and passed the resolution on the work report of the Shanghai Municipal People, the resolution on the implementation of the 2023 national economic and social development plan and the 2024 national economic and social development plan of Shanghai, the resolution on the implementation of the 2023 budget and the 2024 budget of Shanghai, the resolution on the work report of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, the resolution on the work report of the Shanghai High People's Court, and the resolution on the work report of the Shanghai Municipal People's Procuratorate.
Huang Lixin said that this conference holds high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, fully implements the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, thoroughly studies and implements the spirit of the important speech of the general secretary of the party on the inspection of Shanghai, and adheres to the party's leadership, fully carries forward democracy, acts in strict accordance with the law, and successfully completes the agenda.
Huang Lixin said: At this meeting, we have elected me as chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and seven comrades as members of the Standing Committee. We must conscientiously study and implement the socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era, fully implement the requirements of the Municipal Party Committee for the work of the People's Congress, safeguard the authority of the Constitution, keep in mind the people's entrustment, strive to take responsibility, be strict and honest and self-disciplined, and work together with all the members of the Standing Committee and the deputies of the National People's Congress, and strive to hand over the answer sheet of the People's Congress that reassures the Municipal Party Committee and satisfies the people.
Huang Lixin pointed out that the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress should study and implement the spirit of the important speech of the general secretary of Shanghai as the primary political task and top priority, under the strong leadership of the municipal party committee, bear in mind the "great man of the country", adhere to the "four puts", firmly grasp the political position, overall positioning, and practice of the general secretary of Shanghai, and take a clearer and firm position in adhering to the party's overall leadership.
