In the blink of an eye, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has lasted for two years, and there are still no signs of peace.
For this fiercest war on the European continent in the 21st century, we have paid close attention to it from the beginning of its outbreak, and immediately organized a series of reviews to examine the roles of all parties in the chaos, expose the selfish intentions of some countries, analyze the position and perspective that Chinese should uphold, and the clear attitude has won a lot of approval and caused some controversy.
Two years have passed. Facts are the most instructive. The protracted war and the deepening of the disaster have also made right and wrong clearer.
a).It should be clear that the United States is the initiator of this war.
At the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, there was a lot of noise and disturbance, and even many relatives and friends quarreled so much about whether to stand in Russia or Ukraine.
The incident happened suddenly, the inside story is complicated, what should I think? We duly launched the first chapter "See Who is the Source of Trouble in the World Today" (March 1, 2022), which clearly pointed out that the United States issued empty promises to encourage Ukraine to challenge Russia's bottom line first, and frantically provoked Russia and Ukraine to the back; When the war finally started, and continued to send ** to Ukraine, extreme pressure, intensifying the situation, and doing everything possible to provoke the fire, all kinds of behaviors are self-evident whether to stop the war or persuade peace.
And the subsequent battlefield trend also fully confirms this judgment. Whenever the situation slows down and the dawn of light appears, the United States is busy handing over the sword and even "supervising the war" on the front line. For example, on the first anniversary of the conflict, the United States ** Biden suddenly appeared in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and announced an additional $500 million in military aid to Ukraine and a series of new sanctions against Russia.
Some people shout "don't let the conflict escalate" on their lips, but they clearly say "let the war burn more violently" in their actions, which is related to the essence of the art and industrial complex. The US military departments, military industrial complex, Congress, and defense scientific research institutions have long formed a huge and intertwined interest group. In fact, not only arms sales, but also energy, food, and other areas in which the United States took advantage of the scourge of war to grab money.
From the perspective of the geostrategic pattern, the United States has fooled Ukraine, provoked Russia, hollowed out Europe, and expanded NATO through this big game of chess. As long as the conflict continues, it will be difficult for Russian-European relations to ease, tensions will prevail in the European region, and European countries will become more dependent on the United States, so that they will continue to profit and maintain their hegemonic status. Under such calculations, how can the United States become a constructive force for de-escalating conflicts?
From Kosovo to Iraq, from Afghanistan to Syria, from Russia and Ukraine to Palestine and Israel, the United States has been involved in almost every conflict. Maintaining hegemony and seizing interests by sowing contradictions, creating conflicts, and waging wars can be called the basic logic of US domestic and foreign affairs.
b).It should be recognized that Ukraine and the Ukrainian people are nothing more than "consumables" for the United States to achieve its selfish goals.
One month on the occasion of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, we launched the article "Who is the biggest obstacle to the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict" (April 1, 2022), pointing out that for a hegemonic country that relies on war to "suck blood" and reap the benefits, "human rights" and "equality" are just words, and the people in the dire straits, as well as the people of foreign countries, including their own countries, who are implicated in the war, are completely out of consideration.
Time and time again, in order to encourage Ukraine to "fight to the last Ukrainian" and "shed the last drop of blood", the United States and Western countries have made sufficient efforts, regardless of the tragic price that Ukraine has borne - the country is riddled with holes, the economy and society have suffered heavy losses, and the death toll continues to rise.
At the end of November 2023, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said that at least more than 18,500 civilians have been injured in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with many civilians** occurring far from the front lines. Other data show that after continuous brutal fighting, the average age of Ukrainian soldiers has risen from 30-35 years old to 43 years old. This means that this war has consumed an entire generation in Ukraine.
A butterfly's flap of its wings can trigger a storm across the ocean, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict has also affected the world, including the United States. At the beginning of the war, when announcing the first round of sanctions against Russia, Biden admitted that the deterioration of the situation between Russia and Ukraine and the sanctions imposed by various countries on Russia may trigger Russia's countermeasures and affect the lives of ordinary Americans. The energy crunch brought about by sanctions and the signs of "decoupling" caused by taking sides have all exacerbated the uncertainty of economic operation and made the shadow of inflation hit the world again.
The people want peace, why do our leaders always keep us at war? The Washington Post asked. The only plausible explanation is that some conflict-makers don't see people at all.
c).It should be recognized that it is a great tragedy for the fraternal state to fight against each other.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, we published an article entitled "A Warning to the World from the Brotherhood of Russia and Ukraine" (March 1, 2023), pointing out that Russia and Ukraine are in the same vein, originating from the Slavic country of Kievan Rus'; The historical friction between the division and merger has also led to deep grievances between East and West Ukraine.
But history has not been without its opportunities. In the 40s of the 20th century, after the victory in World War II, Ukraine completely became a union republic of the Soviet Union. During the period when national sentiment was relatively calm, the USSR focused on strengthening the industrial level of the Ukrainian regions. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine, which has a strong industrial and agricultural base, could have given full play to the advantages of the "land bridge" and became a channel between Russia and Europe to achieve development.
But Ukraine** gradually turned to the strategy of "throwing itself into the arms" of the West. Under the banner of "restoring democracy", the United States and the West are inciting color revolutions in Ukraine, pushing pro-Western ** to come to power, and vigorously agitating for them to join NATO. Ukraine, where many forces are entrenched, has long become a high-pressure powder keg, and under the strong "arch fire", the outbreak of conflict has become inevitable.
Looking at the roles of all parties, Russia's core security concerns have been repeatedly ignored, Ukraine has been reduced to a "consumable" kidnapped by the war, and the so-called accession to NATO is still far away. Russia and Ukraine are originally from the same root but are brothers, and the price is painful, but some third parties that are most involved in the war have become the largest or even the only profiteers, which is sad and sad.
(iv).
It should be recognized that it is extremely important for a country to have strategic autonomy. "The clearest warning to the world in the year of the Russia-Ukraine conflict" (February 23, 2023) pointed out that from beginning to end, Ukraine has no dominance over the tragedy that happened on its own soil, and Europe has no say in the security crisis that is happening around it, and everything is moving forward according to the script of the American "director".
Ukraine could have enjoyed a normal pace of development, but since the day of its "westward fall", it has ceded its autonomy to others. Ukraine's geographical location is extremely important, which determines that it will inevitably become the object of the United States and the West, but this makes Ukraine feel that it has the capital to confront Russia, and it is quietly dragged into the quagmire by the "invisible hand".
When the flames of war are ignited, the development and the end are not under your control. With the passage of time, those troublemakers gradually became invisible, and they avoided the investment in real gold. Especially after the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the diplomatic strategic goals of the United States and the West have taken a sharp turn, and Zelensky has become an outcast who stands aside, not to mention those false promises that are not in tune.
Looking at the European countries, they have repeatedly claimed to achieve strategic autonomy, but under the great changes in the geopolitical situation, they have been welded to the chariot of the United States, and they have no choice but to bear the "extortion", and they have further fallen into the energy crisis, geopolitical crisis, and economic recession crisis.
If the national strategy is not autonomous, it means that "being led by the nose". In the strategic calculations of the hegemonic powers, "brothers", "friends" and "partners" are all just victims.
v).It should be clear that the hope of resolving the chaos has always been only to persuade and promote peace talks.
The Russia-Ukraine War: Paying a Heavy Price and Returning to the Beginning" (March 8, 2022) pointed out that for Eurasia, only by abandoning the Cold War mentality and ideological confrontation and building a security order of mutual respect and mutual trust through consultation and dialogue and treating each other as equals can the dead knot of Ukraine's East and West be truly untied.
Russia's tough posture is enough to make the United States and the West sober up, and NATO's eastward expansion is difficult to achieve and cannot bring real European security; Ukraine, which is covered in bruises, has suffered the consequences of "infatuation and wrong payment", which once again proves that extraterritorial ** will only plant a time bomb for the regional situation.
China has always upheld a fair and responsible attitude towards regional conflicts and disputes, and called on all parties to exercise restraint and de-escalate the situation, return to dialogue, consultation and negotiation, and ultimately make Ukraine a bridge between the East and the West, rather than a frontier of confrontation between major powers. Such an attitude is determined by the merits of the matter itself, taking into account the law of reason, especially taking into account the demands of the local people for survival and development, and is the common cry of all people in the world who yearn for peace.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine lasted for two years, the people were displaced, and the land was devastated. And what did you get?
f).It should be clear that the Chinese should always stand firmly on China's stand.
Chinese should always stand firmly on China's position (March 1, 2022) pointed out that when the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is emerging, some forces want to pull China into chaos by unscrupulous means, and the offensive on the field is extremely fierce. In the face of all the disturbances, some "false virgins", "reflection monsters" and "leading the way party" have repeatedly raised their heads, pretending to talk about peace and shouting slogans in a vacuum, and performing so-called "absolutely politically correct" performance art, setting off a large wave of value disputes. Are the United States and the West upholding "human rights" or engaging in sabotage? Looking at it now, it is self-evident which is right and which is wrong.
The international situation is changing, and this is not the first time that China has encountered disagreements, and it will not be the last. In an increasingly uncertain world, in the face of risks and challenges on the way forward, it is more necessary to think about what position we should stand on to look at the problem and how to be considered a "person who understands".
The citizens of a country have a natural connection to the state. We do not live in a time of peace, but we are fortunate to live in a safe country. This indispensable living environment, which is not observed, actually benefits from the protection of the state and the protection of our ancestors, which should be the basic point that we cannot ignore when looking at problems and expressing opinions.
In the face of any problem, the Chinese need to stand firmly on China's position, and the country's position is the position of hundreds of millions of Chinese people. If you lose this mental autonomy and sober judgment, you will be led away by some people's preset lines, and become a confused "gang singing" without knowing it. The lesson is extremely profound and should be a wake-up call.
7) It is still unknown when the Russia-Ukraine conflict will end, but there is no doubt that sober strategic judgment, complete strategic autonomy, and strong national cohesion are essential for a country.
Today's China is marching on the long road of great rejuvenation. Hundreds of millions of people should maintain a high degree of vigilance, think calmly, and distinguish rationally, choose to breathe and share the same fate with the motherland, resolutely safeguard national interests and national image, think in one place, work hard in one place, and avoid all unnecessary self-loss.
This is to protect our common beautiful home, and it is also to defend everyone's happy life.
