Only what you feel is what you have

- It is better to have than to enjoy. If you know how to feel, why do you need to have it?

There are two kinds of wealth – one is numerical wealth, and the other is one's own feeling of wealth.

Whether you are rich or not depends entirely on your feelings. Even if we have something, if we can't feel it in our hearts, we don't have it.

What people are looking for is what they don't feel. For example, some people don't feel loved, so they seek to be loved. Some people don't feel rich, so they will go for it. But being rich is a feeling, not a number, and that's why some people have a lot but never feel rich and beautiful.

The essence we seek is not a thing, but an inner experience or feeling. You want to get a dog, not because it's idle, but because it can bring you a certain feeling, such as happiness, comfort, happiness, vitality, which is what you really want. If you want to have a partner, a house, if you don't have a special feeling, what difference does it make if you have it or not? If you feel the same way, or even worse after you have it, then why bother?

Why aren't some people happy after marrying into a wealthy family? Because the feeling of marital happiness is in feelings, not money; Someone has a new house, why isn't there a faster one? Because the house is for people to have security and fun, if the house is not safe enough, or the mortgage burden is too heavy, how can you feel happy?

Putting matter before the mind is equivalent to putting the carriage in front of the horse, and putting the cart before the horse.

Of course, you have to feel it, and you don't have to have anything. Children have nothing but are happier than adults, aren't they?

When we were young, even the most ordinary things could make us happy. I can still remember the joy I felt when I first went to the beach as a child, and the throbbing I felt in my heart at that time. I also remember that I used to climb the mountain with my children, and I originally wanted to look for beetles, but I saw eagles and macaques on the mountain road, and the surprise when I caught beetles and longhorn beetles.

That's right, what you feel is what you have.

I remembered that there was a Zen master in Jiadao in the Tang Dynasty, who was a very famous poet monk. One day, Tang Huizong specially went to visit Zen Master Jiadao, and it happened that the Zen master was not there, and the waiter said, "The master went up the mountain to collect medicine." ”

Do you go often? ”

Yes, often go up the mountain to collect medicine. ”

Tang Huizong really couldn't figure out what was good on the mountain, and why Zen masters often went up the mountain.

Another day, Tang Huizong met Zen Master Jia Dao and asked, "I heard that you often go up the mountain to collect medicine?"

The Zen master replied, "Yes." ”

The emperor asked, "What is the pleasure in the mountains?" ”

The Zen master said, "There are white clouds in the mountains, there is a breeze, and there are birdsongs. Then he said: "Your Majesty, it is a pity! I can't bring back the fluttering white clouds with my sleeve robes to give to you. ”

When the emperor heard this, he deeply felt the joy in the heart of the Zen master.

In fact, as long as we feel it with our hearts, we can have joy anytime and anywhere. Every spring, the flowers are in full bloom; Every autumn, the maple leaves turn red; Every morning, the sun rises in the east; Every evening, the sunset fills the sky. It's not something that has only been discovered now, but it has always been. As long as we have the heart to appreciate the white clouds, listen to the birdsong, and feel the breeze, where is not happy? When we can feel the richness and joy of life, how can we not be rich?

- It is better to have than to enjoy. If you know how to feel, why do you need to have it? Just as you don't have to have the sun to enjoy its brilliance; You don't have to have a night sky to see the stars, do you?

On the other hand, if you don't know how to appreciate and feel, isn't it the same as not having it?

Stop chasing it, haven't you noticed? It's because you care too much about pursuit, but you don't realize what you already have.

Only by understanding the essence can we find out the fundamental problem.

Perhaps you are satisfied with your material life, and you can pause and think, "How did your satisfaction come about?" ”

Perhaps you think you need something to be satisfied, but pause and think, "Are these things really satisfying?" You can look into your heart, "Where does contentment come from?" ”

Once you understand that satisfaction does not depend solely on external things, you will be able to enjoy the riches that come with material abundance and at the same time enjoy the richness of the mind.
