He Jiesheng looked for his father's ashes, and Mao responded

One day in June 1975, ** held a letter and made a special trip to meet the chairman of *** after reading it, with tears in his eyes. At that time, the chairman's physical condition was already quite worrisome, but he still stressed to *** that this matter must be handled quickly, and the ashes of Comrade ** should be found immediately, and he must be buried again, which must be solemn.

So, who is the sender of this letter? And why is the chairman so moved?

It turned out that the letter was written by **'s daughter He Jiesheng, in which she asked ** to find and hold a burial ceremony for her father as soon as possible. This letter attracted ***'s attention, and he immediately took the letter to *** and got ***'s instructions.

Subsequently, ** personally dispatched two comrades from the General Office of the ** Military Commission and the relevant departments of the First Office of the Special Case Group to investigate and find Mr. He's ashes. After a lot of investigation and conversation, they finally found Mr. He's ashes.

Hearing the news, He Jiesheng burst into tears. All these years, she has been running around for her father's affairs, and now she finally has a result, which is both a surprise and a sadness.

The happy thing is that my father's deeds and exploits have finally been recognized by *** and **, and the sad thing is that the deceased is gone, and he can no longer see the news, and he sleeps with regret.

He Jiesheng was born in 1935 during the Long March, because before she was born, her father had just won a big battle, so he was named "Jiesheng". The name was given by Xiao Ke.

Born during the war years, she was destined to live a life of exile. Although her father and mother cared for her, the trials of life and death accompanied her at all times, and she almost lost her life many times.

After the victory of the Long March, He Jiesheng came to Yan'an with his parents, but his father was on the front line to resist Japan, and his mother was also engaged in propaganda work in the front-line troops, so he had no time to take care of her, so Mr. He could only send her back to her hometown in Hunan to be raised by two old subordinates.

Leaving Yan'an and returning to his hometown, He Jiesheng did not stay away from the war. The poverty in which she lives has taken a heavy toll on her. Her adoptive father passed away one after another, and she could only spend the difficult years with her adoptive mother, and sometimes she was so hungry that her chest was pressed against her back.

If it weren't for the adoptive mother's relatives, they wouldn't even have a place to live. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Mr. He immediately sent someone to find the child and take him to his side.

At that time, He Jiesheng was already 15 years old, but due to chronic malnutrition and lack of money for treatment, her arthritis was so severe that she could not even walk normally. The moment he saw He Jiesheng, Mr. He couldn't help crying, he felt deeply guilty about her, so he took her around to seek medical treatment, and finally cured her illness and sent her to school.

Five years later, He Jiesheng was admitted to the Department of History of Peking University with excellent results. After graduating, her father encouraged her to go to difficult places to contribute to the country. So, He Jiesheng chose to go to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and became an ordinary teacher at Qinghai University for Nationalities.

In Qinghai, He worked for five years until 1960, when he was transferred to the Military Museum.

Although Mr. He was criticized for that movement, even his daughter He Jiesheng was not spared. However, what made He Jiesheng even more heartbroken was that his father died unjustly on June 9, 1969 because he did not bow to those people, and the location of the ashes was rarely known.

It was not until June 1975 that He Jiesheng wrote a letter to ***, asking the prime minister to help find his father's ashes and bury them, which attracted the attention of *** and ***, and ordered the ashes of Mr. He to be found.

On June 9, 1975, the 6th anniversary of Mr. He's death, a solemn burial ceremony was held in Babaoshan.

According to He Jiesheng's recollection, ** finished reading the eulogy with tears, and bowed 7 times to the ashes of the marshal, expressing great respect and guilt to Mr. He.

Later, He Jiesheng worked in the Academy of Military Sciences and the General Political Department, and was awarded the rank of major general in 1996, becoming one of the few female generals in our army.
