Ramallah, 7 Feb (Xinhua) -- Palestine News Agency 7 said that when Palestinian Abbas met with visiting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in the West Bank city of Ramallah on the same day, he stressed that regional peace and security need to be achieved through the implementation of the "two-state solution" for the Palestinian-Israeli issue.
During the meeting, Abbas reiterated his opposition to forcing Palestinians to leave their homes. He said that if the Israeli army carried out military operations in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, a large number of Palestinians would be forced to leave their homes.
At the same time, Abbas stressed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine and that any Israeli plan to separate or isolate the Gaza Strip is unacceptable.
Speaking at a news conference after the meeting, Blinken said he was concerned about a possible Israeli military operation in Rafah and called for more aid to be allowed into the Gaza Strip.
According to a number of Palestinian reports, a large number of Palestinians held a march in Ramallah on the same day, and the United States favored Israel's position in the current round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
