Reebok will end up with another experimental collaboration – this time leveraging Mike Cherman's Market brand.
Throughout its history, Reebok has been at the intersection of sports, fashion, and culture, paving the way for today's sportswear brands. Throughout the 80s and 90s of the 20th century, the traditional institution attracted audiences around the world with a wide range of footwear products, whether Club C or Classic Leather. Reebok also stood out from the competition with its Vector tracksuit, a lightweight two-piece that combined performance and style in the early days. Market has taken inspiration from comfortable sportswear for its first collaboration with the Massachusetts-based company to redesign two Reebok classics that have already been modified.
The Club C 85 heels and classic leather heels are instantly recognizable in two different styles, but their signature heel technology makes for a refreshing aesthetic. Cherman's approach to design was designed to recreate the "DIY" aesthetic: the nylon construction, pronounced stitching details, and zippers seemed to be "torn off" straight from vintage vector tracksuits and applied to sneakers. The sole unit on the quartet maintains a standard finish, allowing the upper to revel in the spotlight. The Market x Reebok collaboration is dominated by an understated color scheme, but the "burgundy gold" transformation of classic leather heels brings some perfect style for next spring.
