For Marshal ***, Shock's mood is mixed. There is a sense of intimacy like an old friend, but also a resentment of a different position. This mixed emotion makes Shook show a double face different from others when he is criticized.
As time passed, the misunderstanding was resolved, and Shook wrote in his memoirs: "On Lushan Mountain in July 1959, ** was under tremendous pressure.
He is not afraid of being criticized, nor is he afraid of being misunderstood by his comrades. However, he never understood why it caused such a big repercussion just because he told a few words of truth. ”
On Lushan, in the face of the scene where Marshal *** was criticized, although we can't know what Xiao Ke said, his attitude can be seen from his next sentence.
"When he said this, Shock's emotions seemed to be mixed, with a mixture of lightness, pleasure, and even some joy," he said. However, it was just his personal emotion.
Originally, Xiao Ke did not have the opportunity to participate in the Lushan Conference, because he had lost his military position and was going to Heilongjiang to repair the reservoir, but at the invitation of **, he still chose to attend. ”
When Xiao Ke was about to leave, he suddenly received a notice that he needed to go to Lushan District to attend a meeting. At the time, Shook was a little puzzled. After all, he had stepped down and found a new job with the help of his friends** and others, so how could he possibly attend such an important meeting?
However, this was the case, and he resolutely went to Lushan. In Lushan, he witnessed the criticism of ***. He could never have imagined that only two months later, ** was also violently criticized.
This scene made him feel a little relieved. After returning to Beijing, the Military Commission held an enlarged meeting to continue to criticize the military and point the finger at the enemy, and there seemed to be a tendency to expand the area of attack.
This went on for a long time.
In 1958, I was criticized, which lasted until May 1959. As much as I was dissatisfied, it was more of a concern. It turned out that my problem was boiled down to dogmatism because of the statement of **.
Looking back on this experience, I wrote in my memoirs: ".
Although Schoke's resentment against Marshal *** has dissipated, *** has been dead for many years. It all stems from the criticism that Shook received back then. On November 6, 1957, Xiao Ke was appointed director of the training director department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, responsible for the military training of the whole army, military education in military academies, and the study and collation of the combat experience of the whole army in various historical periods.
In order to achieve this goal, the Department of the Directorate of Training has set up a number of institutions, including the Department of Planning and Supervision, the Department of Army Combat Training, the Department of Military Academies and Schools, the Department of Military Science and Doctrine, the Department of Extra-military Training (responsible for the military training of students), the Department of Military Publications, the Bureau of Physical Training, the Bureau of Material Support for Combat Training, and the Magazine of Combat Training.
Under Xiao Ke's leadership, the Training Directorate Department has made remarkable achievements in establishing and perfecting a regular training system for the whole army, strengthening the construction of academies and universities, organizing and leading the whole army to strengthen basic training, conduct combat training, and conduct coordinated combat exercises, and has been recognized by the Central Military Commission.
In 1958, an anti-dogmatism campaign was launched within the army. In this campaign, Shook and *** had a disagreement on the idea of army building.
** In one article, questions are raised about the slogans of regularization and modernization of the army, as well as different views on the teaching work of military academies. Although Schock expressed difficulty in agreeing with ***'s views, he still chose to write his thoughts in the letter.
However, the letter caused trouble for Shock, and the Military Commission held an enlarged meeting to criticize Shok for four consecutive months and forced him to self-criticize with high-pressure means.
In his speech, ** strongly criticized the Department of the Directorate of Training, believing that they had removed the post of Minister of Defense of our country and could not enter the Department of the Directorate of Training.
He also said that the Nanjing Military Academy had both soil experts and military authorities, and he did not dare to go there. This made Xiao Ke feel a lot of pressure, and finally had to review it against his will.
In his memoirs, Shaw described the incident.
On 11 December, the Directorate of Training was abolished and the institutions under it were reorganized into the Department of Military Training, the Department of School Administration and the Department of Publications, which were placed under the jurisdiction of the General Staff. Although Schock barely passed the inspection, his problems remain unresolved.
It was not until May 1959 that Schoke's problem was resolved, and he was relieved of his military duties and lost his job. During that time, Shock's heart was filled with pain. Later, with the help of ** and others, Xiao Ke reluctantly got a job from the Ministry of Reclamation.
Therefore, Schock has a deep grudge against Marshal ***.
**After reflecting on his Lushan criticism incident, the general admitted that he had hurt Xiao Ke and others, and before his death, he told his nephew Peng Qichao to find Xiao Ke and apologize on his behalf.
Many years later, Peng Qichao fulfilled his last wish and conveyed the words of apology to Xiao Ke. Xiao Ke was deeply moved when he heard ***'s apology.
When recalling this past, Xiao Ke mentioned: "Even though Xiao Ke and *** have differences in some views, we are both people who pursue the truth and are honest and upright. ”
