Yan Youwen was admitted to the hospital on September 25, 1962 due to serious illness, and the hospital issued a critical illness notice. For the Yan family, the pillar of Yan Youwen is about to pass away, and the problem of family livelihood has suddenly become a real challenge.

On the same day, Yan Youwen looked at his wife Ding Yanqiu and the child in front of the hospital bed, trembling and said to his tearful wife: "After I die, you will be strong and lead our whole family to live."

The eldest of our six children is 24 years old and the youngest is only 8 years old......Yan Youwen passed away at the age of 48. At the memorial service, looking at the elegiac couplet "Member Yan Youwen Eternal" sent by *** and another elegiac couplet "Comrade Yan Youwen Eternal" sent by ***, Ding Yanqiu felt comforted in his heart.

Yan Youwen, a hero who made great contributions to the revolution, his life is full of legends. His ashes were placed in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery, and his life deeds are written on the tombstone.

He was an officer of the Kuomintang, but later joined the Communist Party in an uprising, became the director of the Grain and Oil Production Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and a member of the Communist Party of China.

When his children filled out the form, they all filled in their family background as "Gegan", which was a recognition and admiration for his heroic deeds. As he grew older, his children gradually went out into society and became hard-working and patriotic young people.

For them, joining the party is an important choice, and they conscientiously fill out the application form for joining the party, eager to become a glorious member of the Communist Party of China. However, while waiting, many people who filled out the application form to join the party were accepted, and they were not able to do so.

The group photo of Yan Youwen and his wife Ding Yanqiu once encountered an embarrassing situation of "the whole family economics trial was unqualified". In order to understand the reason, Ding Yanqiu and his children asked the party organization separately, but the answer they got was the same: "As soon as it comes to the political trial, it will be stuck."

Although Ding Yanqiu's family was not an enemy and Yan Youwen was still a member of the Chinese Communist Party, this does not explain why they were rejected. Many years later, the youngest daughter grew up and wrote an application to join the party, but she also encountered the same problem and was asked about history.

The children were very confused, so they decided to go to the ** department to ask, hoping to find the answer.

Yan Youwen's family searched for the files of the rebels in the ** department, but unexpectedly found that there was no file of Yan Youwen. Although this is well known, the secret persists for years.

Ding Yanqiu and his children made great efforts to find the answers, but they were unable to access confidential files and insiders. It wasn't until 1993 that things took a turn for the better.

This year, Liu Guangren, the former leader of Yan Youwen's daughter and the former deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, met his former colleague Wang Yu. Wang Yu was a former underground worker, and he was very excited when he heard Yan Youwen's name, and said: "Liu Guangren is no stranger to Yan Youwen.

When he was engaged in underground work in Beiping, Liu Guangren's public identity was a reporter of "Pingming**". At that time, as the subject of an interview, he had contact with Yan Youwen, Fu Zuoyi's secretary and director of the Information Department of the North China "Suppression General". ”

Wang Yu revealed the secret mission and revealed the seven-year loss of contact with Yan Youwen, who was once a hidden fighter of our party who was deeply hidden. Liu Guangren recalled Yan Youwen back then, his image was slender, tall and thin, and he spoke quietly, like a scholar.

However, his true identity is unknown. In August 1945, shortly after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Yu suddenly received a task from his superiors and received a secret mission.

This mission is related to Yan Youwen's contact, which has been broken for seven years.

During his studies at Shanxi University, Wang Yu became acquainted with Yan Youwen and learned that he participated in the progressive cultural activities led by underground party members Du Renzhi and Zhang Youyu.

Yan Youwen was talented and sharp, and was appreciated by Fu Zuoyi and served as Fu Zuoyi's personal secretary. In 1938, during the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, Yan Youwen joined the Communist Party of China under the secret development of Pan Jiwen, the first special commissioner of the Communist Party of China who assisted in political work in Fu Zuoyi's troops.

In the second half of 1939, the Kuomintang set off the first upsurge, and Fu Zuoyi's attitude also changed, and Pan Jiwen, a political cadre of the Communist Party, and others were "sent out of the country as gifts".

The party organization lost contact with Yan Youwen. Seven years have passed, and Wang Yu can't help but sigh whether Yan Youwen still maintains the loyalty and firmness of the year. Despite this, Wang Yu still hopes that Yan Youwen can be a Communist Party member with firm beliefs and will not lose his party spirit because of his personal interests.

In 1946, Wang Yu disguised himself and entered Suiyuan and met a Kuomintang officer named Xue Qilu. During the chat, he learned that Xue Qilu was the secretary of the confidential room of Fu Zuoyi's headquarters, so he pretended to ask very casually: "Do you know Yan Youwen?" ”

Xue Qilu didn't take it seriously, and said casually: "Yan Youwen? He's Chief Fu's secretary! ”

In order to get in touch with Yan Youwen, Wang Yu decided to encircle Xue Qilu. He invited Xue Qilu to dinner and gave him a big gift. After getting acquainted, Wang Yu asked Xue Qilu to introduce him to Yan Youwen.

After hard work, Xue Qilu finally agreed to Wang Yu's request and took him to meet Yan Youwen. When Wang Yu met for the first time, he revealed his request to Yan Youwen and promised to repay him for his help.

In order to contact Yan Youwen alone, Wang Yu inquired about Yan Youwen's residence from Xue Qilu. A few days later, Wang Yu came to Yan Youwen's house with a carefully prepared gift box.

Yan Youwen received Wang Yu and talked with him. Wang Yu asked three questions in an artistic way, namely: "Is your name Yan Youwen?" "Are you from Ronghe, Shanxi?" ”

Did you graduate from Shanxi University? Yan Youwen felt very strange, but finally answered "yes" seriously.

Yan Youwen looked at Wang Yu seriously, and Wang Yu's eyes revealed firm faith. Wang Yu opened his mouth and said: "Comrade Yan Youwen, I am from Yan'an, and I was sent to find you." ”

When Yan Youwen heard this, he was very excited, and immediately stepped forward, held Wang Yu's hand, and said excitedly: "I have been waiting for this moment for a long time!" In order to ensure safety and better communication, Yan Youwen decided to take Wang Yu to a secret place.

They walked around and around to a cloth shop opened by Yan Youwen himself, entered the manager's room, closed the door, and began a formal conversation. The two decided to use this cloth shop as a contact point in the future, and Wang Yu also established a top-secret one-line contact with Yan Youwen in accordance with the instructions of his superiors, and no longer contacted any local organizations, and told Yan Youwen the purpose of this trip, so that he could understand and grasp strategic political and military information, including the relationship between Fu Zuoyi and Chiang Kai-shek, and other than that, all information was not collected to prevent his identity from being exposed.

In Yan Youwen's old photos, only a few people know his special identity. In the enemy-occupied area, only Wang Yu knew his true identity. In the liberated areas, except for the top leaders of the border security and ** social departments, as well as a few people such as *** and ***, no one knows his true identity.

Later, considering the particularity of Yan Youwen, his relationship was transferred to the **Social Department, and was contacted by Wang Yu, Luo Qingchang and Li Kenong, and then *** and ***

Fu Zuoyi attaches great importance to Yan Youwen, thinking that only what Yan Youwen writes is consistent with his thoughts, and his language is the same as what he wants to say. Soon after, Yan Youwen spread the news that Fu Zuoyi had been pulled onto Chiang Kai-shek's civil war chariot and that his troops might attack the liberated areas of Suidong.

Wang Yu immediately found a certain unit of the North China Field Army stationed in Fengzhen, Suidong, and told the unit leader this important information, but the unit leader thought it was a fantasy and said nonchalantly: "You have estimated Fu Zuoyi's military strength too high. ”

However, in June, Chiang Kai-shek unilaterally tore up the armistice agreement and launched a full-scale offensive on the liberated areas.

When Fu Zuoyi and Chiang Kai-shek were together, a unit of the North China Field Army was not fully prepared for the war, lost the initiative in the campaign, and was forced to withdraw from Fengzhen.

In this regard, Li Kenong once said: "The defeat in the early stage of the North China Battlefield was mainly due to the fact that we did not pay enough attention to intelligence. Luo Qingchang also said later: "Yan Youwen's intelligence played an important role in avoiding greater losses for our North China Field Army. ”

After the North China Field Army won the first battle, Fu Zuoyi decided to "fight the Communist Party and improve his prestige" on **, and asked Yan Youwen to write an open letter to *** and publish it in the newspaper.

Yan Youwen hesitated after receiving this task: if he wrote this letter, he would be scolding his own party and the party leader, which did not match his inner position; If you don't write, you can't explain it to Fu Zuoyi.

In the end, Yan Youwen decided to tell Wang Yu about this matter and asked him to report it to his superiors, and it was up to *** to decide. On the other hand, Yan Youwen used his busy work as an excuse to delay time and try to avoid writing this letter in front of Fu Zuoyi.

After receiving the report, Li Kenong told *** and *** about the incident After a moment of consideration, he instructed Yan Youwen to write this letter, and to scold him harshly, not only to arouse the righteous indignation of the military and people in the liberated area, but also to meet Fu Zuoyi's psychological needs.

After Yan Youwen received ***'s instructions, he immediately understood ***'s intentions, completed the task all night, and handed over the written letter to Wang Yu, and after ***'s approval, Wang Yu sent Yan'an's instructions back to Yan'an.

Yan Youwen handed the letter to Fu Zuoyi, and after Fu Zuoyi read it, he was very satisfied and decided to publish it. After the full text of the letter was published, it aroused strong disgust among the people in the liberated areas, and they all expressed their desire to fight the Kuomintang reactionaries to the end.

Fu Zuoyi became the commander-in-chief of the "Suppression Chief" in North China under the appointment of Chiang Kai-shek, controlling 200,000 descendants and 400,000 Chiang-related troops, and became the leader of the strongest military group in North China.

Yan Youwen was also promoted to major general, and not only remained Fu Zuoyi's secretary, but also held many positions, including deputy director of the North China "General Suppression Office," deputy director of the Political Work Division, director of the Information Division, and press spokesman.

Li Kenong in the old photos has a resolute expression and a blazing eye. When he met Wang Yu, he revealed an important task to him, asking him to infiltrate Beiping, keep in touch with Yan Youwen, and obtain strategic information about Fu Zuoyi and Chiang Kai-shek.

After Wang Yu arrived in Beiping, Yan Youwen arranged for him to work in the Beiping Hotel, and gave him a press card for "Pingming**", which was used as a cover to facilitate the transmission of information.

At this time, Wang Yu became a colleague of Liu Guangren, an underground worker. In fact, most of the reporters and editors of "Pingming**" are underground members of the CCP. In the process of striving for the peaceful liberation of Beiping, it was decided to use Yan Youwen again.

Li Kenong found Wang Yu, conveyed **'s instructions to him, and warned him not to expose Yan Youwen no matter what. Yan Youwen lived up to expectations and obtained Fu Zuoyi's battle plan in only two weeks.

In January 1949, Fu Zuoyi decided to liberate Beiping peacefully, and he read out the "Beiping Peace Agreement" at a press conference on behalf of Fu Zuoyi, but he still did not know Yan Youwen's true identity.

During a visit by Yan Youwen, Fu Zuoyi, ** and others in Xibaipo, ** praised Yan Youwen's article. After Fu Zuoyi felt the great mind of the first man, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was appointed Minister of Water Resources, and Yan Youwen followed General Dong Qiwu to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

After returning to China, Yan Youwen was appointed deputy director of the Farmland and Water Conservancy Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources, ** Considering Fu Zuoyi's psychological feelings, Yan Youwen's true identity has not been disclosed for the time being. Later, Yan Youwen served as the director of the Grain and Oil Production Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, but unfortunately died of illness.

It was only years before his true identity was revealed, leaving his wife and children with difficulties in joining the party. After Liu Guangren learned Yan Youwen's true identity from Wang Yu's mouth, he was very happy and brought Yan Youwen's descendants to Wang Yu.

The story behind Luo Qingchang's old photos is very emotional. In order to surprise Luo Changqing, Wang Yu did not tell him about Yan Youwen at the appointed time, but only said that he missed his old superior.

However, when they arrived at Luo's house, Wang Yu brought Yan Youwen's descendants with him and introduced them to their children and informed them of their rejection of joining the party.

At this time, Luo Changqing remembered Prime Minister's evaluation of Yan Youwen and decided to help his children solve the problem of joining the party. In the end, with Luo Changqing's official letter, Yan Youwen's children successfully joined the party and made outstanding contributions to the peaceful liberation of Beiping.

This story tells us that there are people and things that may seem insignificant, but they can change a person's fate.

On July 10, 1997, when Luo Qingchang was in his later years, he published the article "Dan Xin Shines on Posterity" in "Beijing**", justifying Yan Youwen's name. At the end of the article, Luo Qingchang highly praised Yan Youwen's talent and personality charm, and borrowed the words of "Yongmei" to express his deep nostalgia and admiration for Yan Youwen.
