ZTE rises! In the U.S. infringement case, Samsung was fined 4800 million yuan.

According to the statistics released by major news releases, China has been ahead of all countries in terms of 5G technology.

The chart below shows that Huawei has the highest number of active patents in the world in the 5G field, accounting for 15% of patents, followed by Qualcomm, Samsung, ZTE, LG, Nokia, Ericsson, Dakang, OPPO, Xiaomi.

Five of the top 10 manufacturers are from China, which adds up to about 35%, more than the world's 1 3.

However, Chinese companies have not taken any action on 5G technology, but have taken a defensive position and turned 5G technology into patents.

For example, Huawei, they have a lot of patents, but their ** is only 25 yuan, compared with Qualcomm, Nokia and Ericsson, it is already relatively cheap, ZTE and other companies do not charge any patent fees at all.

But recently, there has been good news about the 5G technology, in the United States, Samsung's 5G technology was found to be infringing, and the compensation was 67.5 million US dollars, that is, 480 million.

The lawsuit is complicated, after all, the plaintiff is not ZTE, but G+ Communications.

The company sued Samsung for infringement of five of its 5G patents. However, the five 5G technologies of Samsung's 5G by G+ Communications were all obtained from ZTE, and the 5G technology in the hands of G+ Communications was also obtained from ZTE.

ZTE submitted the technology to G+ Communications in 2020, which took it to court in 2022 on the grounds that Samsung's Galaxy series had violated their rights and demanded liquidated damages.

Samsung filed an application with the court to revoke three of the five products, but the other two products were found to constitute infringement.

According to the investigation of relevant departments, Samsung sold a total of 45 million American Galaxy series products, and it is not known what it is, but after the court's ruling, the company was sentenced to a licensing fee of 67.5 million yuan.

Although it is not known what G+ Communications will eventually sell**, according to industry sources, ZTE Group also owns 20% of the equity while transferring ZTE.

In other words, G+ Communications can get 20% of the technology from ZTE, that is, out of the 880 million, ZTE can get 9.6 million?

Some people say that if ZTE goes to the United States to sue Samsung, it is estimated that it will not be able to beat it, so it can only ask American companies to sue, do you think it is true?
