The elder brother sacrificed righteously, and the revolution was the guide
In August 1907, Yang Shangkun was born in Shuangjiang Town, Tongnan County, Sichuan, and he ranked fifth in the family, so he was also called Cheng Wu. Yang Shangkun has a fourth brother named Yang Yangong, who can be regarded as the guide of Yang Shangkun's revolutionary road. In 1917, he felt that the situation was difficult and the nation was in danger, so in order to find a way to save the country and save the people, he went east to Japan to study, and immediately after returning to China, he and Wu Yuzhang engaged in party building work in Sichuan.
In January 1924, he secretly established the Chinese Young Communist Party with advanced people, and within a year, the party organization was dissolved, and in 1925, he joined our party to lead the work of the Chongqing Youth League and local committee.
In 1926, the wave of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party was boiling, and Yang Yangong was responsible for the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in Sichuan, but no one expected that Chiang Kai-shek was treacherous, launched a counter-revolutionary coup, and wantonly killed Communist Party members, and Yang Yangong was unfortunately recognized by reactionary spies in 1927 in March 31**, and then tortured in prison and was shot and killed.
At the time of his death, Yang Yangong was not yet 30 years old, and at that time, under the influence of his elder brother, Comrade Yang Shangkun also joined our party at a young age, eager to serve the motherland and contribute to the people.
Inherit his brother's legacy and fight bravely to kill the enemy
At that time, Comrade Yang Shangkun was selected by the party organization to go to the Soviet Union for further study, and when he was studying abroad, he did not know about his brother's death. When his dearest relatives were killed and died, Yang Shangkun sorted out his thoughts with extreme grief and indignation, vowed to avenge his brother, vowed to fulfill his brother's last wish, and ushered in a beautiful and bright tomorrow for the motherland.
After returning to China, he participated in the organization of the workers' movement in Shanghai and a series of anti-Japanese salvation movements, and after the start of the Red Army's Long March, he correctly stood in line and served as the deputy director of the Political Department of the Shaanxi-Gansu Detachment. When the full-scale War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, he served as the secretary of the Northern Bureau of the Communist Party of China, assisting Mr. Zhu and Mr. Peng in leading the anti-Japanese guerrilla war in North China.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively served as the director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China and the secretary of the Party Committee of the organs directly under the CPC Central Committee.
The dying request was deeply moving
It is a pity that Comrade Yang Shangkun also suffered unfairness during the period of great turmoil, and the reactionary clique removed Comrade Yang Shangkun from all his posts and imprisoned him for 12 years. It was not until after the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee in 1978 that Deng Gong re-presided over the overall situation, settled a series of unjust, false and wrongly decided cases, admitted the mistakes made by the party during that period, and restored the reputation of some veteran revolutionary comrades.
After restoring his reputation, Comrade Yang Shangkun was transferred to Guangdong Province to serve as the second secretary and the first political commissar of the Guangdong Military Region. In 1980, he was by-elected vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and secretary general. It was not until the 90s, because of physical reasons, that Comrade Yang Shangkun withdrew from the leadership position and lived in retirement.
In 1998, Yang Shangkun has been hospitalized more than once due to illness, this time the illness is menacing, Yang Shangkun has been in a coma for several days, and again and again as if it is dying, the family is worried, and the party organization also sent people to comfort this old comrade. But when he was dying, he had only one sentence from the bottom of his heart, that is, he asked his superiors to bury him next to his fourth brother after his death.
The fourth brother is the warrior he admires the most, and he immediately agreed to this request. Overnight, he sent people to build a cemetery for Yang Shangkun next to the tomb of Yang Yangong in his hometown in Sichuan, and this plan was not completed until three years later, that is, Yang Shangkun was moved to his brother for burial three years later.
