This is the 3,298th true story we've heard.
More than ten years ago, when I first stepped into society, I met a man who was six years older than me, he was mature and stable, and he had a successful career. We met and got to know each other, and finally entered the palace of marriage. However, the marriage revealed a desperate side, with frequent arguments and domestic violence leading me to make the decision to divorce two years later.
After the divorce, I left my old life and came to Shenzhen, a bustling city. Here, I rediscovered my position, worked, studied, and lived a positive life. In an English training class, I met my foreign teacher, a master's degree from Peking University in Mexico.
The moment he passed by me, I felt another wonderful encounter in my life. He fell in love with me at first sight and gave up his position as a foreign teacher in order to marry me. We arrived in Canada with great anticipation, but unexpected difficulties followed.
I am Yoyo, a post-80s Northeast girl, who has lived in a single-parent family since she was a child, and has a withdrawn and rebellious personality. Boarding school life in junior high school allowed me to gradually regain my optimism. After graduating from college, I met my first husband, whose maturity and experience benefited me a lot, but the troubles of marriage eventually led us to choose to separate.
After the divorce, I tried to adjust myself and came to Shenzhen to pursue a new life. The city's prosperity and opportunities have made me feel the infinite possibilities of life. I joined a company, then worked part-time at a convenience store, and eventually used my savings to join a chain of convenience stores.
Living in Shenzhen, I have experienced the city's economic development and the convergence of foreign talents. In order to adapt to this diverse environment, I signed up for an English course, which became the opportunity for me to meet my current husband.
He is a Mexican, a master's degree from Peking University, and also my English teacher. The love between teachers and students was forbidden by the training class, but that didn't stop us from coming together. He quit his job as a foreign teacher, and he gave a lot for me. So, we came to Canada in high spirits and ready to start a new life.
However, the reality in Canada is not what we imagined. The cost of living here is high, and our academic qualifications and language skills are not fully recognized. Finding a job has become difficult, and getting around has come with a range of issues. In order to adapt to the new environment, I signed up for an English course again, and my husband chose to study locally.
When we first came to Canada, we didn't have a car and public transportation was inconvenient, so in order to solve the travel problem, we took the driver's license test together. However, getting a driver's license is not something that happens overnight and requires a long wait. During this time, we worked hard to adapt to life, encouraged each other, and hoped to rise to the occasion.
The headwinds of life have made us feel a lot of pressure, but we firmly believe that difficulties are only temporary, and as long as we work together, there will always be a turnaround. In the process of English training and learning, our lives gradually got on the right track, and my husband also found a satisfactory job.
As life gradually stabilizes, we plan to welcome a new life. After four years of marriage, we welcomed a lovely baby. The support and subsidies make us feel warm in our lives, and this also makes us cherish our happiness even more.
Looking back on my past life, I deeply appreciate the impermanence of fate and the ups and downs and happiness of love. The shadow of divorce is a thing of the past, and now my current husband and I are living in harmony and happiness. I was touched by his tolerance and understanding, and we went through the ups and downs of life together.
Life is not always easy, but as long as you have hope and work hard, you will surely usher in a new dawn. That's my story, and it's an encouragement to all those who have been emotionally traumatized. Let go of the past, face the future positively, and believe that if you bloom, butterflies will come.
Thank you for reading my story, and may you find your own happiness in your journey of life. Life may hit us hard, but as long as we keep moving forward, happiness will surely wait for us at some corner. I hope my experience will give you some courage and inspiration. Come on, life is beautiful because of you!
