In a heart-warming incident in Guiyang, Guizhou, the police and city leaders rescued more than 70 abandoned puppies.
The incident occurred at 9 a.m. on Feb. 6, when Wei Guanbin, a police officer at the Yongle Township Police Station, received a police order to report that a large number of abandoned dogs had been found near the Yongle service area of the G6002 Guiyang Ring Expressway.
According to the policeman, the puppies were abandoned at the intersection of the service area at 22 o'clock the night before, and were mistaken for normal cargo transfer at that time.
It wasn't until the next morning that I heard the dogs barking and realized the presence of the dogs and called the police in time.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found a heart-wrenching scene: more than 20 puppies had frozen to death, while the remaining 70 or so puppies were hiding in the corners of the grass to avoid the cold.
Due to the remoteness of the abandoned site and the rain the night before, the surveillance could not clearly capture the information of the abandoned vehicle.
Faced with a large number of puppies in need of rescue, ** immediately contacted the Guiyang Pet Center Association and the Pet Funeral Center.
Hu Xiaoran, president of the Guiyang Pet Small Animal Protection Association, also arrived at the scene at 11:30 and suggested adopting a group of puppies on the spot, and the rest was adopted and cared for by the Guiyang Pet Center.
During the rescue process, a police officer was bitten on the hand because the puppy was afraid, but he was vaccinated against rabies in time.
By around 12 noon, in addition to the proper disposal of the puppy that had frozen to death, the rest of the puppies were safely transported back to the police station and an adoption announcement was issued.
This adoption announcement quickly spread among the circle of friends of Guiyang citizens, attracting widespread attention and response.
Many citizens have expressed their willingness to come and adopt these innocent little lives.
With the joint efforts of the police and the public, these more than 70 puppies were finally adopted one after another and found a new home.
Among them, some of the larger puppies were adopted by nearby villagers, while other smaller puppies were adopted by citizens with experience in dog ownership.
The police station has registered the adoption situation in detail, and promised to assist the public in applying for a dog license in the follow-up to ensure the legality of the adoption and the safety of the puppy.
This incident not only demonstrated the power of police-community cooperation, but also reminded the public of the importance of civilized dog breeding.
The local ** took this opportunity to appeal to the public that if they encounter a problem with dog breeding, they should seek help from ** and relevant units, and should not abandon their lives.
The rescue operation received widespread praise and thanked all the citizens who participated in the adoption for their loving actions to save these innocent little lives.
