I sent him a long report we wrote five years ago, "Lingnan Liu Guoyu". Today, it is also proposed to **, the title is changed to "A Generation of Northern Sect Liu Guoyu", and the words are added to pay tribute. Liu Shizhi also said that time flies too fast, and it will be five years in the blink of an eye. Looking back at this report, there is a sentence in it, saying that we have a grand wish, hoping that in another five or ten years, the Wengshan Poetry and Painting Institute will become the center of landscape research and creation in the north and south. Clearly, we still need to step up our efforts. But no matter what, five years later, Liu Guoyu's influence in Lingnan and even in China is getting bigger and bigger—not only because of his art, but also because of his personality and mind, which is very different from ordinary artists. In particular, it is his influence in the middle of nowhere.
Can the relationship between cultural masters and their hometowns be instructive today? We are reminded of many of the sages. For example, the great philosopher Immanuel Kant never left his hometown in his life. Thoreau, the author of "Walden", also lived in a very small place, and today because of Thoreau, because of "Walden", it has become a spiritual holy place.
In ancient China, there were also a lot of Confucians and Jugongs who lived in a corner, and they were scattered in the wilderness and remote areas, rather than gathering in the famous capitals. This gave us a big touch. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen are the most economically active places, and they are also the largest talent sources and cultural centers, which is very different from the past, where the cultural distribution was roughly balanced. It's worth reflecting on.
I remember going to see Hua Guan, secretary of the Shixing County Party Committee, and when chatting, he said that he was very envious of Gao Zhong, secretary of the Wengyuan County Party Committee, and asked why, he said that because Wengyuan had a Liu Guoyu, in this way, there was a good starting point for cultural construction. Liu Guoyu's case is precious. If there are more cultural people like Mr. Liu Guoyu, or stick to the countryside, or return to Sangzi, they will become the main force of local cultural construction and educate the party. For example, if a cultural person has made a little achievement, he wants to go straight to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen to "seek greater development", which will indeed have a negative impact on rural construction.
Today's cultural people are too eager to show up, they don't live in the non-famous area, and they are not interested in the "mainstream". Today's so-called "hermits" are mostly regarded as "social losers", which is very different from the ancient "hermits who are all heard". In ancient times, we praised hermits because they had a powerful radiation effect in spiritual construction and moral guidance. - Hermits must be hidden in the countryside.

The cave of Futian is also not only to cover the fish and turtles with horns and arms, but also to collect the hermits of the world; The opening of the mountains and forests of the earth is not only to breed hundreds of insects, but also to release the world.
The cave accommodates the knee, the mountain forest handles the arm, although it is located in a remote area, far away from the city, it is no vulgar, and the sound moves the four seas, and the world admires it, why not?
Or say: The hermit of the world can be said to be a generation of people. The father of the nest gave up the country, and Xu Yu washed his ears; Bian followed the river, and Wu Guang made soup; Bo Yi Shuqi, do not eat Zhou Su; Yanling Jizi, return farmland to Longmu. The hermit of the ancients, who are tired, will donate it, and those who are different will never be killed. Therefore, Guan Ning cut the table, Daoyuan was silent, Li Ju abandoned the knight, and Ji Kang broke off friendship. The one who let the world, how can it be curbed? Antao Kunzhong, sorrow and happiness, belong to the will, how can he be a mere lord? However, the monk yuan will not be able to bear the ugliness of the essence in the end, and the servant will blame Zhuang Zhou's Hu for being the one in the mud, why not?
Ancient and modern hermits, or hidden in the mountains and forests, or hidden in the city, and never left their way. Therefore, it is said: The sage is really hidden in the Tao. Dongpo hated that his body was not mine, and Yingshi was self-established and floated all over the world, and the Taoist system should stand with it. However, Su Zi can be satisfied with the inside, and seek the release of his body outside, why not?
Chinese painting, especially hermits. Ancient painters, Ni Yunlin floated in Taihu Lake, Huang Gongwang sold Bu Fuchun, and the two sons wandered in the mountains and seas, and the way of painting returned to Yan'er. The laughter of the eight big cries, Shi Tao's search for one, Hongren Qingzhen, and Shi Xi's anger has not been vented. These four monks are all easy people, and they are all hidden to the Tao. Later, Huang Qiuyuan rushed to compete in Qianzhuang, and he could see his paintings and prosper the Oriental sigh; Chen Zizhuang talks about martial arts in the green forest, and Tianshou obeys his paintings and hates those who have not seen him. Huang Chen Ergong, the great hermit of the painting world. Today, Li Laoshi is confused by the charm, Zhu Xinjian is drowning in fat powder, Bian Pingshan is lazy in celadon, and Mr. Wu is diligent in current affairs. The hermit of the art world is also. The first three sons were named at the time, but their paintings were far away from the times, and they did not want the times to enter their paintings through their arms. Therefore, we know that the so-called painter is also sometimes different from the hermit. Mr. Wu is not famous for painting but for the affairs of the world, and at the time, he is also a capable person; In painting, it is also a hermit.
The hermit of painting, salty for its ease. However, the emergence of Yiqi is also, such as the grinding of yin and yang, the swing of heaven and earth, the rise and fall of the sun and the moon, and the zero growth of plants and trees. Strong and easy, the yellow door is chaste; However, the north gate is lamentable. And those who are easy to breathe, only the hermit has more of them.
Or say: If it is hidden, how can it be known? How can you see its height? If it is high, how can it win the righteousness of all people to the wind?
In the past, the Han ancestors were hidden between the rocks of Mang, Dangshan Ze, and Lu Hou sought it and often got it. There are clouds on it. Therefore, those who know the ancient and modern hermits, there will also be treasures and monsters in the secluded places, hidden places, such as the turbid water of the clear spring, the gray haze of the neon glow, and the dry night of the thunderbolt. The hermits of ancient and modern painting do not admire the wealth of Jin and Chu, but seek the chapter of the dark; Do not be greedy for the merits of heaven and earth, but inherit the joy of the Tao, so you can show it without mind, meet without invitation, go without shins, and hear it all over the world.
Today's Liu Guoyu lives in Weng Mountain, stargazing in the sky, dining in the Xiaqi, inheriting the morning dew, listening to the frog singing, reading the Han Sutra to send pride, pillow Tang poems and falling asleep, people say: This is not a boring gentleman. Gao Shanqiao said: The hermit of this painting world. However, Guo Mangyuan's graffiti is a pavilion, the wall of empty lotus, and those who are worried are not famous in Beijing, and they are afraid of being ridiculed, and finally they are full of fame, and they are proud of their predecessors. Gao Shanqiao said: Yes. Ke smiled and said: Most of these famous people are also not hermits in the mountains. Gao Shanqiao replied: Looking at it from the perspective of painting, non-hermits can't do it.
