New orders keep coming! After inheriting the 10 3850dwt small stainless steel chemical tankers ordered by the German shipping company GEFO Shipping, Xiangyu Haizhuang once again received 6 38000dwt stainless steel chemical product tankers to achieve double happiness in the New Year!

On February 7, Norwegian chemical tanker giant Stolt-Nielsen announced on its official website that the company's joint venture with the Japanese shipping company NYK Stolt Tankers (NST) has signed a contract with Xiangyu Haizhuang for the construction of six 38,000 dwt stainless steel chemical product tankers, which are expected to be delivered from the end of 2026 to 2029, when they will replace ships that will be decommissioned from 2026.

Stolt-Nielsen said the series is the sister ship of the 6+6 38,000dwt stainless steel chemical product tankers that Stolt Tankers announced in November last year to order from the Wuhu shipyard. The vessel will be designed by FKAB with an "FKAB T72" design with a particular focus on low energy consumption and high efficiency, with 30 compartments and optimized hull alignment through the use of a patented F-bow design to achieve energy savings and emission reductions.

The ship's propulsion system consists of a low-speed two-stroke engine, a fixed-pitch propeller and a shaft generator; The usable sulfur content is 01-0.5% marine heavy fuel oil (HFO), heavy diesel oil (MDO) and light diesel oil (MGO) as fuel, all of which comply with International Maritime Organization (IMO) emission regulations Tier III; The main engine adopts ship exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technology, and the auxiliary engine adopts selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. In addition, the vessel will be equipped with a shore power system, which can be upgraded to run on methanol fuel and UPS battery power in the future.

Founded in 1959, STOLT-NIELSEN has developed into the world's largest operator of chemical tankers, responsible for providing global transportation services for bulk liquid chemicals, edible oils, acids and clean petroleum products, and currently has a fleet of 166 ships with a total carrying capacity of more than 3 million deadweight tons.

A few days ago, Xiangyu Haizhuang also contracted 10 small stainless steel chemical tankers from GEFO, which are expected to be delivered between 2026 and 2028, with an order value of "three millions of euros". The new vessels will be used to expand the GEFO Group's chemical carrier fleet and replace some of the vessels that will reach their 20-year maximum age between 2028 and 2030. This order marks the official start of the first cooperation between the two parties, and it is also the second time that Xiangyu Haizhuang has contracted the order of chemical tankers after three years. The shipyard's last order for chemical tankers dates back to April 2021.

At present, Xiangyu Haizhuang is mainly composed of 100,000 tons of environmental protection and energy-saving series of bulk carriers, oil tankers and container ships, small and medium-sized stainless steel specially coated chemical tankers and other engineering ships. From April 2021 to the announcement of GEFO's orders, all the new ships undertaken by Xiangyu Haizhuang are bulk carriers.
