Remember to swear and sleep on the ground as a bed
On January 1, 1912, Sun Yat-sen was inaugurated as the Provisional Congress of China in Nanjing, and he was the forerunner of China's democratic revolution. However, Sun Yat-sen has a wife, Lu Muzhen, and a concubine, Chen Cuifen, which is embarrassing.
But at this time, Chen Cuifen quietly disappeared from people's vision and Sun Yat-sen's life, and their breakup made people feel mysterious.
Chen Cuifen was Sun Yat-sen's unwavering partner on the revolutionary road, and they spent 20 years together, although they were actually husband and wife, Sun Yat-sen did not divorce his original partner.
She decided to leave Sun Yat-sen, who was 40 years old at the time, and although she had made up her mind, she did not intend to completely sever ties with Sun Yat-sen. On the contrary, she wanted to remain the "Sun family" forever, so she went to Macau to join Sun Yat-sen's brother Sun Mei.
Sun Yat-sen was frequently wanted in the early days of the revolutionary wave. When the revolution failed, many people chose to leave him, but Chen Cuifen always stayed by his side and never wavered.
He often thinks that if Chen Cuifen had chosen an ordinary man as her partner, her life might not be so turbulent. Born into a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, Chen Cuifen was skilled in nursing care and has been taking care of Sun Yat-sen's daily life.
Chen Cuifen played an important role in Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary cause, not only sending secret documents, printing leaflets, and contacting revolutionary comrades, but also showing meticulous care for the revolutionaries around Sun Yat-sen.
Chiang Kai-shek, Wang Jingwei, Xiao Zhongkai and others have all been taken care of by her, and they all affectionately call her "Fourth Aunt". Sun Yat-sen's gratitude to her is beyond words, and his affection for her has long surpassed the love of husband and wife.
He even transferred the gold pocket watch given by his mentor Dr. Condley to Chen Cuifen, which is enough to show his deep affection for her.
Chen Cuifen suffered from lung disease, and it was rumored that Sun Yat-sen thought that she was just going to Guangzhou for medical treatment, and always thought that she would return to him when her condition stabilized. However, the world is impermanent, and this parting is eternal.
Soon after, Lu Muzhen also left Sun Yat-sen and returned to his hometown of Cuiheng Village in Guangdong. When Sun Yat-sen planned to marry Soong Ching-ling, he went out of his way to seek advice from Chen Cuifen.
Chen Cuifen was happy for Sun Yat-sen and sent her blessings to their marriage. However, what woman can see the man she loves enter the marriage hall with someone else without a trace of regret in her heart?
In order to marry Song Qingling, Sun Yat-sen took the initiative to negotiate a divorce with his original partner Lu Muzhen, and received the understanding and support of Lu Muzhen and Chen Cuifen. Their generosity not only upheld Sun Yat-sen's reputation, but also won the respect of the Sun family.
Chen Cuifen originally intended to dedicate her life to Sun Yat-sen, but because she felt that she was born in a poor background and was not able to provide him with solid support, she chose to leave silently. She emphasized that it was not that Sun Yat-sen abandoned her, but that he had always treated her well and was worthy of her.
The misunderstandings and rumors from the outside world do not match her experience.
Chen Cuifen, the woman who has accompanied Sun Yat-sen for 20 years, her love is deeply persistent and she is never afraid of losing. Her love is not a rash love, but a deep love, as firm as a rock.
When Sun Yat-sen passed away, Chen Cuifen set up a spiritual altar to worship for seven days, and her love was like a mountain, which was moving. A few years later, Sun Yat-sen's eldest son, Sun Ke, went to visit Chen Cuifen and mentioned that Sun Yat-sen repeatedly recited "I want to sleep on the ground" before his death, and said that "it is better to have ice".
As soon as Sun Ke's words fell, Chen Cuifen's tears fell, and he muttered, "He still remembers ......."It turns out that there is a secret hidden in this.
At that time, they often had to evade the pursuit of Qing **, in order to let each other hear the movement outside, Chen Cuifen and Sun Yat-sen would take turns sleeping on the ground, they both thought about each other and guarded each other.
Chen Cuifen once said to Sun Yat-sen, "It's cold on the ground", and Sun Yat-sen replied, "It's better to have ice." These short words contain deep love and care.
At the last moment of his life, Sun Yat-sen still cared for his confidante Chen Cuifen, who fought side by side. After hearing about this, Chen Cuifen felt deeply comforted and felt extremely worthwhile for her efforts.
After Sun Yat-sen's death, Chen Cuifen kept in touch with the Sun family. At the age of 87, she died of illness and was buried in Hong Kong. In 1986, the Sun clan moved her body to Sun Yat-sen's hometown, where she was laid to rest in peace.
The tombstone is engraved with "The Tomb of the Eighteenth Sun Lady Chen Cuifen".
