As the saying goes: "Those who rely on others are self-sufficient, and those who rely on themselves are self-sufficient." ”
How to overcome oneself is to not be afraid to retreat when encountering hardship, and to smile in the face of adversity.
The road of life is long and bumpy, sometimes sunny, sometimes stormy, no one can always be with you.
The umbrella in someone else's hand will not stay for us forever, the only thing we can do is to hold the umbrella for ourselves and be our own shelter.
The ancients said: "Heaven is strong, and a gentleman is constantly striving for self-improvement." ”
Lean against the mountain, and the mountain will fall; Rely on people, people will get old. The only thing that can be relied on is self-improvement.
In the Tang Dynasty, there was an outstanding writer and calligrapher named Zhang Xu, whose literary talent and political ability were very good, and he was deeply appreciated by the emperor at that time.
But Zhang Xu was not like this before, he relied on the people around him, always expected others to help him, and achieved nothing.
One day Zhang Xu was walking on the street and saw an old man with a fortune teller, so he stepped forward to tell a fortune and see what his future was.
The old man drew out a fortune-telling hexagram card and said to him, "Your hexagram is very good, but there is a black line, which means that there will be some twists and turns in your life." ”
Zhang Xu hurriedly asked: "Then what is the way to overcome it?" ”
The old man said: "You are too dependent on others, waiting for others to solve everything, but you have no ability to overcome difficulties, you have to learn to be independent, only then can you succeed." ”
After hearing this, Zhang Xu was very surprised, thinking back to his previous things, he decided to change himself.
He began to teach himself calligraphy and literature, no longer relying on others, and soon his talent was appreciated by the emperor, and he was appointed **, which was famous all over the world.
Relying on others for everything is a disaster, which not only destroys the will, but also consumes the ability, and in the end can only stand still, only the heart is rich and strong, in order to become a better self.
Ji Xianlin once said: "On the road of life, everyone is a lonely traveler. There are thousands of scenes in the world, joys and sorrows, ups and downs, except for self-crossing, others can not help. ”
Life is full of ups and downs, everyone wants a ready-made safe haven, but no one is willing to do it, and when the storm comes, you can only keep under the eaves and can't move forward.
Trying to hide under someone else's umbrella will eventually get wet, and no one can be your safe haven all the time.
Only oneself can be a suitable shelter for oneself.
I once saw such a story:
A passer-by took shelter from the rain under the eaves and saw a Zen master walking by with an umbrella.
He shouted, "Zen master, take me for a ride!" ”
The Zen master shook his head and said, "You are under the eaves, and I am in the rain, and there is no rain under the eaves, so why do you need me to take you?" ”
So the passers-by rushed into the rain and said, "Now that I'm in the rain, can you cross me?" ”
The Zen master still shook his head and said, "Because you don't have an umbrella, you are wet in the rain." It's not me who crosses you, it's an umbrella that crosses you. You'd better go find an umbrella! ”
Passers-by were very angry when they heard this, and shouted in the rain: "I see that you just don't want to cross me!" Why bother with such twists and turns! ”
The Zen master said, "If you want to avoid the rain, you have to look for your umbrella yourself, instead of shouting when no one wants to cross you." ”
There are no shortcuts in life, we need to move forward on our own every step, and we are grateful when we meet someone who is willing to lend a hand.
When we encounter people who ignore them, we must not complain, but should reflect that if we are strong enough, we will not seek help from others, because we are our most reliable backing.
As the saying goes: "The Bodhisattva recites the Bodhisattva with his palms together, and it is better to ask for others than for himself." ”
There are inevitably ups and downs on the road of life, there are too many sweats and hardships, but there are always people who still love life after meeting with hardships.
Asking for someone is a kind of dependence, you can rely on it for a while, but you can't rely on it for a lifetime, and you can learn to hold an umbrella in order to fight against fate.
Since you are unable to dominate the wind and rain, then hold your destiny firmly, and after the storm passes, you will see a better version of yourself.
A bird standing on a tree is never afraid of broken branches, because it relies on wings, not branches.
In the Analects, it is said: "The gentleman seeks for himself, and the villain seeks for others." ”
On the wind and rain road, no matter how big other people's eaves are, it is not as good as having an umbrella by themselves, and what you get by others is not your own after all, only by working hard can you feel at ease.
Hold your own umbrella, walk your own way, be fearless of wind and rain, cross others, cross yourself.
