Russia will celebrate the Chinese New Year and the streets of Moscow will be lit up

On February 7, local time, Russian spokeswoman Zakharova said during a regular press conference that Russia would celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Zakharova said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China. Putin has signed a decree declaring 2024-2025 the Year of Culture between China and Russia. Russia and China are close neighbors with centuries-old traditions of friendship and mutual trust. The Russian side highly appreciates that the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has entered a new era and has reached an unprecedented high level, becoming a model of efficient and responsible major-country relations.

From February 9 to 18, the city of Moscow will host the first large-scale celebration of the Chinese New Year, which will become a historic event in Russian-Chinese relations and an important symbol in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and February 9 will also be the beginning of a colorful cultural exchange between Russia and China in the next two years. The center of Moscow will be decorated in a traditional Chinese style, including colorful arches and red lanterns, which symbolize peace, prosperity and success. Banners will be held at Kamelgersky Lane, Tver Square, Tverskaya Street and Novo Arbat Street to send New Year greetings to guests from China, Moscow citizens and all tourists.
