Introduction to UNS N06230 alloy
UNS N06230 alloyIt is a solid solution-strengthened Ni-Cr-W-Mo alloy with excellent high-temperature strength, creep fracture resistance and high-temperature corrosion resistance. The precipitation of chromium-rich M23C6 carbides improves the high-temperature creep strength of the alloy.
UNS N06230 alloy has good oxidation resistance in oxidizing environments up to 1150°C due to its high chromium content and the addition of silicon, manganese and lanthanum. It provides excellent long-term metallurgical stability even after heat exposure at moderate temperatures. In addition, the thermal expansion properties are lower than those of many superalloys and provide the alloy with resistance to thermal fatigue. Due to its high nickel content, this alloy has good resistance to carburizing and nitriding environments.
