Saudi ArabiaThis country of mystery and tradition attracts global attention not only for its rich cultural heritage and religious significance, but also for its natural beauty.
Specifically located on the edge of the world in the northwestern part of Riyadh, as part of the Tuwak cliffs, it is a must-visit place in Saudi Arabia with its dramatic geological landscape and endless natural beauty.
These towering cliffs rise from the barren desert and form a massive natural wall that juts into the sky. When you stand on the top of a cliff, the whole world seems to unfold under your feet, and the sky and the barren land seem to merge here. The Edge of the World is named for its excellent views and unique natural landscapes, from which it is possible to see the vast horizon with unobstructed views and experience the true natural spectacle.
The Edge of the World is not just a visual spectacle, it's an adventurer's paradise. There are several hiking trails scattered around, and explorers can cross what is known as the "window" and descend to the lower plateau. Along the way, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover ancient fossils and get a feel for the land's hidden history. However, extra caution is required when exploring, as the gravel is loose and the rocks are sharp, making every step challenging.
To get here, visitors need a licensed SUV, and while four-wheel drive is optional, familiarity with driving on potholed dirt roads is a must to avoid a puncture from hitting rocks with fast driving. From Riyadh, the drive takes about an hour and a half to two hours.
There are two routes to the edge of the world, the most popular one is via Acacia Valley, but this route is only available on Fridays and Saturdays. The other route through the Sadus Dam is always open to visitors, but in either way, be aware of the rough roads and the difficulties for low-floor vehicles.
Saudi Arabia's Edge of the World is not only a wonder of natural landscapes, but also a great place to experience the beauty of Saudi Arabia's desert. It represents the perfect combination of Saudi nature and history, providing visitors with an unforgettable journey of discovery. Whether you're a seeker of nature or an adventurous traveler, Edge of the World is a must-see destination. Here, everyone can feel the greatness and magnificence of nature, as well as the power of time and the silent history.
