Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, China has divided its combat readiness into four levels, from level one to level four, and the degree of alert has gradually decreased. Among them, once the country enters the first level of combat readiness, it means that our country is facing a serious threat, and the whole army must immediately enter a state of emergency combat readiness.
At this time, the radio network will be fully covered, and the enemy's movements will be monitored around the clock, the reserve and duty personnel will reach full strength, and all logistical support and equipment will also be ready.
At this time, almost all the people had to be ready for battle. In recent years, the situation in our country has gradually stabilized, so the first level of combat readiness has never appeared. However, in the early days of the founding of New China, China activated the first-level state of combat readiness six times, and four of them broke out into fighting.
So, when are these six first-level combat readiness respectively?
**After making the decision to assist the DPRK and resist the United States, our country entered a state of first-class combat readiness, which marked the beginning of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. At that time, the United States ignored China's warnings, brazenly crossed the 38th parallel, and the flames of war spread to China's northeastern border, in a vain attempt to control the whole of Asia by controlling the Korean Peninsula.
Although it has been less than a year since the founding of our country, in order to resist imperialist aggression, we have resolutely made the decision to support the DPRK. In October 1950, hundreds of thousands of volunteers, under the leadership of ***, entered the Korean region in a mighty way and launched a fierce battle with the United States led by the United States.
However, at that time, China did not even have the ability to manufacture the best independently, and there was a huge gap with the United States, and other countries also looked at China's "jokes".
In that war, the whole country entered a state of first-class combat readiness, which was the first time since the founding of New China, and it was also the fastest. The phenomenon of a nationwide mobilization of a million-strong army and the people of the whole country participated in it, a large number of soldiers chose to join the volunteer army, and the people who could not participate in the war did their best, and even set off a craze for fried noodles throughout the country.
During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the number of participants was not inferior to that of the War of Liberation and the War of Resistance Against Japan, and at the same time, the whole country provided logistical support, so that the volunteers were carefree on the Korean battlefield. A logistics department of more than 7,000 people has been set up in the northeast region to transport materials for the volunteers.
Although the U.S. military destroyed the lifeline of our army with air superiority, thanks to the efforts of the volunteers, the transportation line was rebuilt and the supplies were successfully delivered to the front line.
This battle spread throughout the country, and even in his spare time, he would personally go to the factory to prepare fried noodles for the volunteers. The War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea was the first and most difficult battle since the founding of New China.
The people of the whole country are determined to win this war, to show the world China's strength, and at the same time to firmly safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. After a hard battle, we finally won the Korean War and washed away the shame of the past.
This is the first time that our country has demonstrated the strength of the first level of combat readiness, which even the United States cannot shake, and fully reflects the strength of our country.
The Kinmen Artillery Battle took place in 1958, when the United States retreated from the Korean War and tried to thwart China's plan to liberate Taiwan by force. Chiang Kai-shek built fortifications in Taiwan and invited the Seventh Fleet to patrol the Taiwan Strait in a valuing manner.
**It was intended to begin the operation to liberate Taiwan immediately after the end of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
In 1954, "People's **" published an editorial "Taiwan must be liberated", and continued to carry out a fierce bombing of the Kinmen area for several days, which aroused Chiang Kai-shek's strong dissatisfaction.
However, due to the intervention of the United States, the matter was forced to be put on hold for the time being. In 1958, several years had passed since the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, but the issue of liberating Taiwan had not yet been resolved.
Against this background, Chiang Kai-shek took advantage of the opportunity of the United States to stir up the world situation and deployed troops in the Kinmen area, which is close to the mainland, in an attempt to dominate the mainland. At the same time, under the pretext of "supporting Taiwan," the US military has carried out bombing in China's coastal areas of Fujian, seriously infringing on China's rights and interests.
In the face of this situation, China has called on the whole country to enter a state of first-class combat readiness and gather a large number of troops in the coastal areas of Fujian. Ground artillery and surface artillery quickly blocked the sea lanes in Kinmen and other areas.
Our army will not hesitate to counterattack any Kuomintang navy that comes to provoke.
On August 23, 1958, under an order, the People's Liberation Army on the Fujian Front carried out a fierce artillery bombardment of the Kuomintang positions in Kinmen. Although the enemy counterattacked, the final shelling lasted for 2 hours and successfully killed more than 600 enemy troops.
The situation in Kinmen is tense, the United States has also intervened, and more than 430 warplanes have openly violated China's forests, posing a serious threat to China's security. In order to prevent the invasion of the United States, China sent additional troops to the coastal areas of Fujian in the next few months, and entered a state of ice throughout the country.
Although China's air force is weak, it shows China's determination to resolutely defy power and liberate Taiwan. The United States had planned to use the atomic bomb against China, but it was not implemented due to international implications.
The correctness of this decision is beyond doubt.
1.After months of shelling, after weighing the pros and cons, it was determined that it would be more advantageous for Kinmen to fall into the hands of Chiang Kai-shek than to fall into the hands of the United States, so the shelling of Kinmen was stopped and the first level of combat readiness was lifted.
2.In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Soviet Union was the country with the closest relationship with China and provided a lot of assistance to the newly founded New China, and we are also full of gratitude to the Soviet Union.
However, there has always been a trigger in Sino-Soviet relations, and that is the border territorial dispute. In 1950, our country and the Soviet Union had a dispute over the issue of border territories, but at that time both countries focused on economic development and did not take this issue to heart.
However, this dispute planted a time bomb for Sino-Soviet relations.
In the mid-1960s, Sino-Soviet relations deteriorated, and the Soviet Union withdrew its nuclear bomb experts and spoke ill of us. Under such circumstances, it was decided that China must independently develop an atomic bomb and no longer rely on the Soviet Union.
However, the more serious problem is the Sino-Soviet border dispute, which has been invading the Zhenbao Island area since 1967, seriously threatening the lives of people on our border.
In 1968, he could not bear the actions of the Soviet Union and immediately ordered a counterattack against the Soviet Union, swearing to defend China's territory and border security. However, the Soviet Union, as another nuclear power, was geographically adjacent to China and had a geographical advantage over the United States, and if it wanted to launch a nuclear attack on China, it would not even need to cross the long ocean.
In the face of a dispute that could escalate, the country was quickly ordered to go on first-level alert, and all leaders withdrew from Beijing, taking the initiative to ask for orders and staying in Beijing to take full command.
This marked the outbreak of the self-defense counterattack war on Zhenbao Island. The Soviet Union tried to expand the situation, they constantly spread unfavorable statements in the international community, tried to use ** pressure to force our country to submit, and even colluded with the United States.
Of course, the Soviet Union also considered the option of using nuclear **, but considering the influence of various factors, they did not take this action in the end. Although the Battle of Zhenbao Island had a profound impact on our country, fortunately, our country has developed its own list of principles and has enough strength to confront the Soviet Union.
1.After the Battle of Zhenbao Island, although the first-level combat readiness was lifted, border friction continued. In the end, after 14 years of waiting, the border between our country and Russia was completely divided.
2.In 1976, ** passed away, and our country faced a situation of internal and external difficulties. In order to ensure the stability of the country, ** and others ordered the whole country to enter a state of first-class combat readiness, prepared for both Taiwan and the Soviet Union, and at the same time paid close attention to domestic developments.
** The memorial service was successfully held, the domestic situation was stable, and the first-level combat readiness was lifted, which was the first time in the history of our country that there was no struggle after entering the first-level combat readiness state.
During the Fifth Sino-Vietnamese War, Vietnam, with the support of the Soviet Union, continued to amass troops on the border to claim to defend its homeland, while also going toe-to-toe with China on the affairs of the South China Sea.
However, we are well aware that behind Vietnam's actions lies the shadow of the Soviet Union.
On the surface, this battle was a dispute between China and Vietnam, but in fact it was a contest of power between China and the Soviet Union. At the beginning of 1979, China launched a self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, which disrupted Vietnam's deployment with lightning speed and successfully defended China's territorial integrity.
And the Soviet Union's plans to influence our country through Vietnam were shattered. At this time, China's relations with the United States are gradually easing, and diplomatic relations have been established with Japan and other countries.
After the end of the war, the state of combat readiness was naturally lifted.
More than 20 years ago, during the naval confrontation, China's national defense and military strength were in a stage of increasing strength, and the navy and air force developed by leaps and bounds. In 1996, people on the other side of the strait were uneasy about the status quo, and the Taiwan Strait crisis erupted.
The two sides engaged in a large-scale confrontation on the sea, and tensions were on the verge of eruption. The soldiers stationed at the seaside even wrote suicide notes, ready to sacrifice their lives for the country at any time. The whole country has also entered the highest level of combat readiness, ready to deal with a possible war.
At a time when the cross-strait situation was at its most tense, the people prepared a large amount of supplies and were ready to take refuge in air-raid shelters at any time. Since the Kinmen Artillery Battle in 1958, China has always adhered to the spirit of not being afraid of war and daring to resist, and has always been consistent in its goal of liberating Taiwan.
Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, six first-class combat readiness states have been activated, which has witnessed China's arduous journey along the way. Today, China's strength has been greatly enhanced, and we have reason to believe that China will develop even stronger in the future.
